So in the spirit of new forum topics - bet it's been done before can we please have a vote on people's biscuit preferences. I'm a simple girl so for me it's digestives, no choccie - it melts when you dip it! In absence of these I'd have to go for Shortbread but not sure it's a biscuit as it ends in bread :?

Jaffa Cakes.

The best by far, and as they are a cake not a biscuit, no VAT to pay

On a related theme did you know that if a biscuit tim is sold with a knob on it then it is part Vatable, not knob no VAT !

I voted Bourbon cos it's the only one I can eat that's vaguely interesting. I usually buy Rich Teas cos they're really dull and so I don't feel compelled to eat the entire packet in one sitting. Of biscuits that are (usually) vegan-friendly, my favourites are Lemon Puffs.

Ah but rich tea take the piss, they're too big to fit in the cup.

My favourite biscuits are Party Rings.

Scones are not biscuits either. Americans, pah.

Fox's used to make a fantastic biscuit called Sunbreaks. They were my favourites, but I haven't seen them around for a few years now. I think I may have eaten them all.

Rocky !

They are lush

also I have discussed this before, I once had a Club, currant flavour, with no biscuit centre, so it was all chocolate, I was a blessed 8 year old.

On cakes though, any of you aware of the Bristol cake "lardy cake" My nick name through about 2 years of school was Lardy ! That has scarred me for life.

My parents lived in Gloucester for a while before I was born - this is the closest I can get to a reason why yes, I do know about Lardy Cake!

Do you think at this stage we should introduce the debate on the subject of Dunking? Well, do you do it, or not? Personally, I dunk. And my extremely extensive research into the subject has led me to believe that Hob Nobs are pretty much the best dunking biscuit out there, although they do cause a little bit of sludge formation in the bottom of the mug, which some dunkers may find distressing. For those dunkers for whom this is an issue, I would like to recommend Abernatheys, a superb and sludge-free alternative. Also, dunking chocolate biscuits - some people find this distasteful, others dunk chocolate biscuits with the same abandon as plain. I'm a universal dunker, the chocolate merely adds an extra aspect to the taste experience in my opinion. What do the rest of you think?

I am a dunker. Altho recently in Starbucks I saw a woman dunking a croissant in her coffee and that disturbed me. Much like the Seinfeld "Joe DiMaggio dunks his donuts" episode.

French habits such as croissant-in-coffee-dunking should be discouraged at all times.
