If you call someone you've never met 'honey' one more time I think I'm going to rip my hair out.

Rip your hair out Topher, as a smurf you wear a hat honey so no one will notice.

Ha yeah I was - bit knackered but OK. I wasn't actually annoyed, I just find it... odd.

It's distinctive anyway. Does she say it in real life i wonder, or is it just a forum thing.

In real life I have a tendency to call people "sweetie". I think I have done it on here occasionally too. I do try not to do it all the time, and only when its appropriate...!

I sometimes call men "honeybun" when i've had a few. No idea why. I've tried giving it up, but it's an uphill battle.

Some old guy called me "sunshine" the other day.

We have this silly little golf trailor thing for when we do golf outings. You can hardly see it from inside the car. This guy was telling me to reverse park in between a billion pound BMW and a slightly more expensive Jaguar. I indicated that there was a trailor on the back of the car to which his response was "well, lets just see how good your driving is then - sunshine".

I weighed up the options then blatantly ignored him. I aint risking battering those cars just to show off to some crappy groundskeeper with and authority complex. Ended up parked outside the front door of the place looking all important.

I used to, especially when a young kid hurts themselves, s'pose I got used to saying "Awww Sweetie" to my daughters when they were little.
But since working at the school I don't.
...too personal according to the CPO.

Nearly said it today when a year 7 girl badly grazed her knee, poor little mite was desperately trying not to cry.

I could never work in a primary school. Reality is that kids of that age need to be hugged sometimes - and you aren't allowed to do it. If I had to deal with a six year old who was crying because of a grazed knee, I'd give her a cuddle. And probably get sacked.

It IS ridiculous you can't give them a cuddle any longer.

I know, even worse when they are boarders!
All I can do is try and make them smile or laugh when that happens.
There are matrons on site at all times, and teachers who have specialist CP training, so should anyone hurt themselves, or become upset, there are people who deal with it very promptly.
And it's all the blooming paperwork that goes with any 'incident', although it's better that reports are always made, rather than not.
