I missed the outcome, did she turn up or not?

No, she didn't. Moyles was furious.

You seem like quite an intense chap qwerty, your name and thread title all in capitals and your first post all in bold. Have you got some form of tourettes?

Oh dear, your observations are obviously well founded on the evidence above, lol. Sorry. Will re-assert myself accordingly. Will you accept my most humble of apologies for my over exhubernce and crap spelling? Will try better.

I thought the discussion and decision process was really interesting - it must have been a more difficult decision to dump Katie Price than it was David Gest, but its about professionalism - Moyles demonstrates it, and he has a right to demand it from the "people" who surround and control the celebs. I love how he won't tolerate the "It's only radio, we can turn up when we want" attitude. I like Katie Price, and I was looking forward to hearing her today, but well done, right decision.

I agree, like Moyles said, "they'd have turned up on time if this was tele!"

My thoughts were that if she was soooo heavily pregnant as they kept saying, should she even be doing stressful things like promo touring at all?
then again she kept drinking and partying when she was first pregnant so a dumbass move like that shouldn't surprise me. Look what it did to her poor kid though.

Good on Chris for standing up again on this one though.

Is that true, or are you assuming? There's a lot of things can go wrong with a pregnancy which don't have anything to do with the lifestyle of the mother - and thats even before you get to the genetic possibilities. But is Harvey's condition down to Katie's behaviour?

It is true that she carried on drinking, smoking and whatever elseing during her pregnancy. I remember at the time seeing her about 8 months pregnant with a fag and glass of wine in her hands. I'm sure she's learnt from that though.

I've not heard this part yet, turned on just afterwards when they were talking about it.

Did they not say that someone phoned her yesterday and told her this would happen?

I'm sure it doesn't help. But its quite a big leap to assume that Harvey's condition is a result of that, when it might be completely unrelated. But yes, it always makes me wince when I see pregnant women smoking, especially. Or anyone smoking around children. Or anyone smoking, really!

someone had 'phoned and warned that potentially if she was late, they would treat her like Mr Gest. And, so they did ! Well done!

I also hate to see people smoking around children. Don't get me wrong, if people want to smoke that's their problem and if people want to smoke in places that only have adults that's not so bad either, the adults can always decide to leave, but when you're smoking in a car with kids in the back, or as you say, smoking when pregnant (or around pregnant women) I think it's utterly deplorable.

I've turned somewhat grumpy in my young age and keep finding myself increasingly adopting the "serves you right" attitude. I'm not saying that Jordan's behaviour definately contributed to Harvey's condition, but if it did, then that's the way the cookie crumbles. I'm feeling the same about the people who lost the kid in Portugal, you play with fire you're going to get burnt.

What does upset me is the fact that it's kids involved, who through no fault of their oww, have to suffer due to idiotic parents. I couldn't care less how the parents feel really.

Don't say much often, but I think it's good Chris decided to refuse to allow Katie on the show.

I suspect he realised the stick and bad publicity he would get if he decided to allow her to turn up so late after he turned David Guest away. So I reckon this must have been what he was thinking after the team rigged the voting to leave it for him to decide.

Regardless, good for you Chris

I hope it wasn't just that - I hope - and believe - that he really is making a stand against the perception of radio as TVs poor relation, and demanding that people who want to use his extremely professionally produced and developed show to sell themselves behave in a suitably professional manner themselves. Its disrespectful otherwise, to Chris, to the producers, to the audience.

Aled, can I have a job please?

One of Chris' points was: if they were going on TV, they would show up on time, otherwise they wouldn't get on! So why treat the radio any differently? They are, after all, throwing out the timing by not being professional enough!

The show gets higher audience audience figures than some of the TV shows Katie Price would be going on though, I'm sure? I agree with Yudster.

I too missed the outcome of this as I had to leave for work, but my housemate and I discussed the situation and we both agreed that Chris shouldn't let her on the show as he didn't let Gest on. Just cos Jordan/Kate is prettier (altho not much IMO) with big boobs, it shouldn't be a different rule for her, so I'm glad he stuck to his guns.

I think he absolutely did the right thing, but a cynical part of me worries that Jordan and her "people" pulled this whole stunt on purpose, knowing how much publicity Gest got when he didn't turn up.
