Anyone else listening in the states on SIRIUS or the web? I have to say Chris is way better than anything we have over here. Granted I have to pause here and there and figure out what they are talking about at times.

Because of the accents?

I would assume because they are not privvy to the TV programmes and news stories that we are and that Moyles talks about.

Kendra is our longstanding American, she was here long before Radio 1 was broadcast on Sirius. There have been others, but they don't tend to stay long.

Hello wesley. I see you're from Alabama. Do you talk like Sawyer from Lost? If so, could you upload a recording of yourself saying, well, anything at all really. thanks in advance.

Bingo - however I love to listen to them talk about shows that we have already seen. We are just now getting Robin Hood on BBC America so we are catching up slowly.

Yes he is great - I think you have Alabama confused with Georgia... although they aren't that far away - as the crow flies as we say.

That has something to do with it. I'm also learning some of the lingo like it took me a few days to figure out what a jab was.

Well... I have lived in Alabama for almost all my life but I don't seem to have the southern drawl that Sawyer has. I used to work in public relations and I learned how to drop it and over time it has really gone away. I do catch myself at times slipping back into it if I am around friends.

But just for you I will make a recording tonight aka morning for you.

Do you get the BBC motoring program; Top Gear? I'm thinking of the 'interesting' visit that the Top Gear team had to Alabama 8O

If you do need help with any of the accents, or words you can always ask us, I'm sure someone would help

Yes we do/did get Top Gear on the Discovery Channel or The Learning Channel (I don't remember which channel).

Allow me to explain how Alabama works and thus why their visit was doomed to begin with.

Looking at the map below we see Sweet Home Alabama is a pretty big state. In the north of Alabama we have Huntsville in Madison County. Huntsville is where NASA builds rockets and runs various Space Shuttle systems. It is also home to U.S. Space Camp and a lot of IT industries that support the government. To say the least the IQ in North Alabama is very high. As you move south we pass through Birmingham in Jefferson County and they control a huge part of the banking in the Southeastern Unites States. The IQ is pretty good in Birmingham. As we continue to move south we move into the lower IQ areas such as Opp, Alabama. In Opp they like to play with rattlesnakes and even have a festival each year to honor the rattlesnakes. That is where the very low IQ kicks in. The guys from Top Gear were in this area and I strongly apologize for the crazy people in Lower Alabama (LA as we like to call it). If we could cut them off and give that part of the state of Georgia or Florida we would be a lot happier.

Well... I'm 25 and I work for a small company as a Systems Analyst. I drive about 50 minutes each way to and from work so that is where Chris comes into my life. I love to travel for fun and business and I hope to make my way over to the UK sometime this year or next.

Anything in particular you want to know about?

We dont really have Sirius radio here yet although I'm sure its on its way at some point.

I find it a bit odd that someone in Alabama is driving along listening to the same show as I am. I know that we have been told about it many times, but I just kinda thought that although it was possible, not that many folk used it.

Why do you listen to the show? What bits do you like and what bits do you not understand? I wonder if the team / station tries to remember that there is a listener base outside the UK and we just don't notice?
