The Beatles had split up before i was born also, but i seem to like them more as i get older. I don't know if this is a result of a lifetime of prolongued exposure, or if your taste just gradually becomes more mainstream the older you get.

I tend to assume everyone does, but I'm not sure. We've had the Hollies play here a few times, and I sort of think of them as in a similarly classic league, but a quick straw poll of my colleagues (who are mostly aged 18-24) revealed that most of them had never heard of The Hollies. I was shocked.

Wasn't that Hollies track used on a film or advert or something, that's why it went to number 1?

Yes it was a TV ad, altho I forget what for. anyone?

This also reminds me that Chris plays Flowers In The Rain at the start of every New Year - I wonder how many listeners know that song?

I've actually seen the current incarnation of The Move ("Bev Bevan's Move") live, at a Jasper Carrott gig randomly.

Is Flowers In The Rain the one that was the first record ever played on Radio 1?

I like Jasper Carrott. Old school, but amusing.

I've always been a huge Beatles fan, they were always playing in the background during my childhood and I can still remember like yesterday John Lennon's assassination. There should be a Beatles song played on every radio show IMHO, but can't see Radio 1 changing their precious playlist to accommodate it. :)
