I make a point of shouting at people once a month, it maintains a distance, and fear which is condusive, I don't shout at my managers ever though, as they leave, and then I have to do the work !

I get the best out of my team by being fair and nice. I don't try to be their friend it just happens! Anyway good news I've not been burnt at the stake! (don't all shout hurrah at once!) The team were very good and accepted the news with good grace, a few tears and, to be honest, quite a positive approach that reminded me what a wonderful group of people I work with. Thanks for all your help! xx

I dunno the figures for visitors to this site, but any time I look at the member list on the front page, there is always about 10 / 20 "guests" looking about as well as the members.

I don't know anyone who works at a Waterstone's but I do know someone who works for HMV. Bit of a waster.

That's cos they're under the delusion that things have changed. The trouble with bookshops is that they take on the personality of the manager, mine is mad and loads of fun! Think MK has a new manager, give them a chance to get used to it. Come to my W it's great!!!!

I've not slagged the company nor would I ever as I love my job, I honestly do and everyone knows that. I'mhonestly the luckiest person alive because I do a job i adore in a company that i would advise everyone to work for selling a product I have loved all my life. thanks for worrying though. xx
