I'm not sure, but there was a driver, and people, and cars and traffic and shouting and roadworks and it was a mess, really, a mess.

Every damn time I step on an NCT bus in Nottingham practically....

I'm moving soon so i won't have to deal with the rude plebian apes that drive these things. In a year of using them, I think I can count on one hand the number of times it's actually been on time.

They've even f**ked up a direct debit on their travelcards which resulted in ME being fined by the bank for their incompetence.

Actually, there is a very good point coming out here - bus drivers are appalling people on the whole, aren't they? Power mad bullies with over inflated egos and control freak tendencies. And pretty crap drivers mostly too. I have long said that the key to easing traffic congestion in my area is to get the damn busses off the road - they are the ones who cause the hold ups.

You just described my dad to a T - and he was a bus driver for quite a while. Since then he's been a screw and a train conductor... see the pattern?

Not all Bus drivers are bad, although some do have a real attitude problem.
I know of a bus driver that was given a verbal warning because he had done 2 things wrong, Firstly he left his position to help an elderly lady onto the bus. This could be understood a bit if he was driving in a city centre, but he was in a quiet village, and had to get out of the bus and walk around to help her board, therefore leaving the driving position unattended.
The second was that he let a young girl board despite not having the correct money, she was on her way home and had lost something like 20p, so he gave her a short ticket, unfortunately an inspector boarded after the stop on the ticket, The company said this could encourage fraudulent acts!
That particular company has never been first in my book!

What amazes me is that the NCT company wins awards for customer service... this says to me that either they're sponsoring the awards, paying someone, or that the other companies being considered are pretty crappy. Trent buses in Nottingham has far better service, and they trust their drivers with money to give customers change.
