Yesterday evening I was thrown off a bus.

We had been stuck for ages on the road waiting on an abnormal loads vehicle getting past .... all the other vehicles had to reverse backwards, loads of confusion, some random woman decided to give a running commentary on the entire situation - even tho' we were all in it (!!), some guy was casting traffic cones aside. And, just to finish everything, I couldn't get the reception for R1.

Anyhow, eventually we got moving ..... and, approx. 1.5 miles from my hometown, the driver brought the bus to a standstill and people got off. I sat on, cos I was going to the next town. Anyhow, the driver promptly informed me we were going no further (!), even tho' we were supposed to. And I was literally put off the vehicle. I had to WALK on to my destination, and have now decided I will be writing to the HQ of the Bus to take matters further.

Anyone else have these public transport fiascos?

I have 3 cars, and therefore do not need to rely on Buses.

I can't be arsed to read anymore, but that's all that is needed for this to be another world-class Viv thread.

he stopped the bus because he claimed it simply STOPPED there, even tho' the timetables state otherwise. This isn't over yet.

To be honest, anyone that doesn't get it, doesn't deserve to have it explained to them!

It was one of those "so obvious I missed it" moments!

it's odd how these threads descend into chaos... one minute it's about pub. transport... the next it's a garlic bread thread. you couldn't plan this stuff....

You sure you didn't get on the wrong bus or summit daft? Were there any others in the same predicament?

Why do I auto. have to do something DAFT? how insulting is that.. i know my buses. I was the last on, so it's gonna be difficult to prove this situation now. the driver simply decided he was offski. I checked the timetables by phone last nite, ok.

apologies, i'm actually trying quite hard not to annoy you - it doesnt seem to be working.

I only meant that its something that I could have done - get on the wrong bus. Sorry.

Maybe they changed their timetable or summit.

Perhaps you should apply your brain when posting then.

I don't think Foot-loose was accusing you of getting it wrong, he was just saying have you considered all the possibilities. Even supposedly intelligent people can be wrong.

sorry, my temper gets up really fast, foots.

they had not changed the timetable, according to someone I spoke to on 'phone. I'm assuming that cos of the delay earlier in the route, the driver just wanted to go home, and I bore the brunt of it. That's why I'll be on the trains sometimes 'cos it somehow manages to be a lot less hassle.
