Believe me, they're not as nice over here - Scotch or not. Not the ones I tried anyway.

yeah, but they don't have as much leavening agent as the american/canadian ones. i like scottish ones, but not as much as the super airy ones. my mom makes nasty little mult-grain pucks which are terrible.

Hmmm

Mum puts baking powder in hers - think it helps them rise.

Sunday breakfast at The House of Pancakes was one of two food highlights of my last trip to the States. The other one was the Drive-Thru Krispy Kreme Donuts place! Oh, and I've just remembered a sublime thing called Angel Food Cake, which I'd heard of, but was not prepared for .....If I lived over there I'd be the size of Alaska.

If that's the same as Angel Cake, you can get it over here.

All this cake talk reminds me of that mockumentary (Brass Eye I think) where they were talking about a 'drug' called Cake...

It was Brass Eye. It was a fine programme. The one about paedoph Isles was that same series.

And the one about Aids, good aids and bad aids. You get good aids from needles/transfusions etc etc, and you get bad aids from gay sex. Bad aids is worse.

Do you remember how pissed off Noel Edmonds was when he found out afterwards it was all a fake? He was livid! His reaction to it was much more entertaining than the programme had been in the forst place.

angel food cake is crazy! but it's so good with berries. too bad it's totally not vegan.

britain has better sweets and mini-cakes, but i think america has better excuses to eat dessert for breakfast.
