whatsthestory wrote:Its got nothing to do with who the PL 'want to keep' in the league, the decision was made by an independent panel not controlled or governed by the PL in anyway. All the clubs agreed to the procedure that brought together the commission and in there is no legal grounding to over-turn the commission's sanctions.

In a perfect world I'd say you're right there story, but alas I expect there's a lot more going on in the back ground. If you're trying to keep your league at the top, and popularise it amongst peers, then it's better that it contains the big (as in well know/respected) clubs, and although independent I'm sure the commission would share that view with the PL.

Your far more cynical than me, though I believe both the FA and PL to be incompetent feck wits, I don't doubt there integrity and I find it hard to believe that they would influence the commission in such a way to dock the results to suit there own needs, especially in the glare of such a media spotlight.

However, I would admit that it is a possibility, though I fear we will never find out either way.

I definitely doubt that there is integrity - based on the complete lack of any evidence to the contrary.

Gaspode_The_Wonder_Dog wrote:thats the most ridiculous argument ever. by that definition you would rather have Blackburn than Liverpool and even as an Evertonian I know which they would prefer.

Well we'll just agree to disagree on this, and agree that I'm right.

Yeah, by a river. Pride Park is kinda in the middle of an industrial estate.

Yeah, but once inside Price Park is much superior. It was in that stadium that I saw the rarest amongst rare things in football, an Emile Heskey hat trick.

Did you watch it? Defensively terrible. Stick Bentley in the side though he seemed well up for it.
