The will love Birmingham City back, and Sunderland. They'll definately be rooting for Derby in the playoffs.

Well, the apprearance will be a lot more attractive without Warnock. He has no redeeming features.

I think he's quite a jolly, gobby sort of charecter; Warnock.

Jolly?! I can kind of go with gobby, but he is worth a double dose of Ferguson and Morenho combined with extra gripes and a side of self pity. Although I understand his point about West Ham, but I am not talking about that.

Tis true that he started off the season more jolly than he ended. Thats understandable. I would need large amounts of valium or something similar to see through a Premiership season. Perhaps Warnock's supply just ran out.

Why would they want Derby when Wolves, West Brom and Southampton are all bigger sides?

Bag for balls wrote:The Premier League will side with West Ham. Most agree that our top flight is the best in the world, and they'll want to keep it that way. Which is why they'll side with the more attractive, more supported, more well know club that is West Ham, and not be too concerned about the ramblings of the smaller clubs like Wigan and Sheff Utd.

It's a shame, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. It's all about keeping up appearances sometimes.

Its got nothing to do with who the PL 'want to keep' in the league, the decision was made by an independent panel not controlled or governed by the PL in anyway. All the clubs agreed to the procedure that brought together the commission and in there is no legal grounding to over-turn the commission's sanctions.

Because Derby have been relatively recent champions of England, you ask a load of Spanish fans or Italian fans who they've heard of out of the four, and Derby would come out on top due to their legacy.

In a perfect world I'd say you're right there story, but alas I expect there's a lot more going on in the back ground. If you're trying to keep your league at the top, and popularise it amongst peers, then it's better that it contains the big (as in well know/respected) clubs, and although independent I'm sure the commission would share that view with the PL.

I disagree - I did a quick run-round on MSN overnight, and here are the results:

Out of seven Italians questioned, 0 had heard of Derby County, 2 had heard of West Brom, 3 had heard of Southampton and 6 had heard of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Out of four Belgians (sorry, I know...) Derby - 0, Southampton - 1, West Brom - 1, Wolves - 3

Out of 12 Americans - Derby County - 2, West Brom - 1, Southampton 7, Wolves - 7

Out of 5 Germans - Derby - 1, West Brom - 2, Southampton - 4, Wolves - 5

I only know three Spaniards, and none of them knew any of them. Also one Portugese, same. A couple of Greeks knew them all. All questioned were male and regular football watchers, except for the Americans who were male and interested.

I had a late night.

I don't believe you, and I'll tell you for why. I know how old you are Yudyud, and it's common knowledge that you don't use MSN past the age of 20 ........ so you're making it up.

My daughter taught me. Sometimes, when she is in her room and Son is in his, and they haven't come out for days, MSN is the only way I can communicate with them, let alone anyone else. And I will admit to having texted a few of them rather than MSNd, and I will also confess that only about a third of them were my friends (mostly the Americans....), the rest are all Mr Yudster's, although I know most of them a bit. But I was up really late talking to them all! It must have been late, I actually saw my son face to face and he only ever comes out when the moon is high.........

In Portugal they seem to be obsessed with any English club so they wouldn't mind. Americans would probably favour Wolves, due to the "quaint name" and most European countries would probably want a team that would cause them no difficulties in the Intertoto.
Personally, I'm rooting for West Brom.

I was asking who they had heard of though, not who they liked the sound of. I like West Brom too, because they are called The Baggies!

Derby are the rams though. Thats pretty good also.

West Brom just keep yo-yoing in and out of the Premier league, let someone else have a go, and as Derby have been out of it for the longest time, I want them in.

Wolves have been out longer than Derby have i think. I think in a four way fight the wolf would win, then the ram, then the baggie. The poor saints would be stuffed.

thats the most ridiculous argument ever. by that definition you would rather have Blackburn than Liverpool and even as an Evertonian I know which they would prefer.
