The truth is, we have a huge problem in Kent and its not the Polish migrants like the paper keeps trying to make out, its the huge amount of Burberry clad pikies and chavs hanging on street corners going "You know wha' I meaaaaaan?" when no-one does nor indeed cares.

You think you have a problem?

All bases covered there then..... from experience though, it's a trifle difficult getting anywhere north.

It's not really though is it - you can get anywhere easily from London, which you can get to easily from Kent.

MK is good for connections - near enough (but not too close) to London, easy to get oop north due to the M1 and M6, which is just up the M1 a bit; and on the West Coast Mainline via train.

True Topher the Bopher, but I was more alluding to the whole "getting to the M1 and M6" bit. You have to go around that massive car park of a road. Going from Leeds to Mamma Ball Bag's house, it can take me 2.5 hours to get to the M25, and often a further 2 hours to get around it.

I've never had too much trouble on the M25, but then I've not been on it too often, I generally go by train if I'm going that way.

If you're on the M25 again... why not keep going !!

yeah, and i wasn't technically in hospital. i was in the infusion room in the chemotherapy clinic. they encourage you to talk on the phone, watch tv, play video games, anything to occupy your hours in the chair.

Mmm, I picked this up on your blog after I posted. Thing is, Colchester are blue and white so when Wednesday came to Layer Road, they wore something different so I actually don't think I realised. You get my meaning.

My last guinea pig died last year, and my beloved cat has just died - Mr Yudster is talking of getting a bunny rabbit, but I would rather have a couple of guineas again. I need to get campaigning. Of course if the dog would die, we could have both.

i'm sorry to hear about your cat. i've been wanting to get a another cavy to keep maude company, but i think she's too spoiled and it would end poorly. right now i'm lobbying for a guppy.

Some Hospitals now allow mobile phone use in most areas.
A problem can arise when you are holding a mobile very close to some electrical equipment, in most cases this would be within 10cm, and often even then the interference is low.
Weird thing is that the British Medical Journal has reported that interference from mobiles is much much lower than from porters hand sets and emergency services two-way radio systems, and I was also told (whilst on a course, by an electrical installation technician) that mobile phone masts which are on top of lots of hospitals produce more microwaves within the building than mobile phones can.

(He also told me that a lot of US gas stations are falling for the urban myth of using a cellphone can cause an explosion, and banning them from use!)
