I would be more interested in that sorta thing - I just have this feeling that the majority of people that want independence only do so because there is the ongoing Scotland vs England thing. I think both countries help each other in different ways. There is an argument that the Scots get dragged into things with England that we don't really want to, but I have always felt that the world looks at Scotland completly differently (in a good way) to how they see England.
To be honest, I think we have it fairly good up here - anything that goes wrong, we can blame on Westminster and say that "it wasn't our idea". Im not convinced that we would manage to do it any better ourselves.

but can you name me a politician who isnt an arse?
as south park says, you have to choose between a douche and a turd. i just like the thought of an snp turd than a labour douche.
Ahhh, yes I did. I was joking though, and was looking for the Bob the Builder gag. I don't in any way actually believe that Chas and Dave are pish. I would vote for them.
You are right, most politicians are an arse, however, I have thought that Salmond was an arse for a lot longer than most of them.
When Blair appeared in power, I did think he was a good guy and good at the job. A lot of what he has done has been of benifit, granted the negatives will no doubt outweigh the positives.

A lot of them seem to have been bullied at school, or secretly have a desire to work for the Child Support Agency but couldn't cut the mustard. A bit like traffic wardens having secret (or not so secret) police fetishes.
As Billy Connolly has said "The desire to become a politician should instantly prevent you from being one. The desire for power is dangerous."
(He then went on to say that he would run for President and one of his policies would be that we would need to be naked every Wednesday. A policy which I strongly agree with.)
