I think best places to make pals are sports-type places: gyms, etc. where you are meeting people with a goal, rather than the internet. The internet can be quite unhealthy, I think, if you wind up sitting on it from morning - midnight, chatting to cyber pals. Not good.

Internet friendship is still friendship, its just not the same as real life friendship. As long as you don't expect the same things from internet relationships as you do from real life ones, I can't see why people who only "meet" on the internet shouldn't regard thenselves as friends. If they want to.
