if you like laughing at freaks check out the personal adverts in

http://www.craiglist.org

everywhere is split in different regions. i would recommend not going to the UK one as its full of fake adverts but to any american state where it is hilarious like this one

"I am seeking a female for breeding purposes. Age is a minimal factor as long as you're between the ages of 25 and 35. You must be very attractive, highly desirable, have good teeth, and be in good health. Your family history must not contain disease or mental/emotional infirmity. You will be required to take a psychological test and a physical health exam. Your personal hygiene must be impeccable. You must not smoke, do any type of drugs, or have any bad habits. After you have produced two offspring you will be released and replaced with another female."

The link didn't work, all you need to do is add an s after craig and refresh.
Someone told me about this some time ago, but I forgot the name, thanks uglybob.

I'm always giving stuff away, and getting free stuff too, but thats with Freecycle, which isn't quite as funny.

for most things i just put them on the street. if it's quality, like an open jar of pickles, then i'll post it on craigslist.

Quality = open jar of pickles.
Like it!

Where I live some people pick up things left on the street,

Like Cars, Gates, Kerbstones, mobile phones (although they're normally being carried by people that are on the street, prior to 'donation')
