I have a fear of edges. Often ones that are really high up, although not exclusively. I don't mind heights as such, but unprotected edges make me dizzy. I don't have to be near them either, I walked along the top of Curbar Edge and Froggat Edge in the Peak District last week, and I had to go ahead of everyone else because my kids wanted to jump around on the rocks near the edge. If I had been able to see them doing it I'd have gone hysterical, so me and the doggie walked faster. I do a lot of walking in high places, and climbing and such, its got nothing to do with heights, I can get just as nervous about a drop of a few feet as I can about one of a few hundred feet. Is there a name for the fear of edges?
