Why do we have to choose? Do you have them held hostage at gunpoint?

I once read someone who said they thought "gunpoint" was a place and wondered why anyone ever went there.

So unless you are from the same country as a person you cant have an opinion on them? Damn and I was just ready to share my thoughts on Didier Drogba.

You can still know about him and have listened to him though so why is it only americans can have an opinion on him?

but im just making the point that the me, an average brit, will have no opinion on stern as he only broadcasts on the wireless to the states.
im sure if i was an extreme avid radio fan, id have listened to him and have an opinion, but im not and dont.

Stern is - or was, I haven't listened for years - much more outrageous and controversial than Chris has ever been, but after the initial novelty of his style, it became very contrived-sounding. When he was just doing what he did and shocking everyone it was good, but it became a deliberate quest for the next thing to shock with - he lost his spontenaity. He may have got it back, I don't know, haven't heard him for a while now.

I like Chris because he manages to convince me that he is being himself, and the controversy and "shock value" of anything he does is a natural by product of his personality, therefore funny. He has no political or social agenda to push, unlike Stern. He has never sounded to me as though his broadcasting has been influenced particularly by Howard Stern, as a lot of people have said over the years.

The one thing that I always suspected of Chris Evans and of Moyles as well was that they developed an interest in football as it helped their careers.

Stern? Sorry never heard of him (just your average English Joe (or Joanne) here).
But anyway - I love Chris
But I'm finding these days that more and more people seem to be against him - because he's popular! It's such an English trait - as soon as someone finds some success is our country, it seems to be a national sport to put them down! So far as I can see, Chris is doing just what it says on the tin - why is that bad?

Sorry, but he's just not as good as he used to be. He used to end a gag when it was funny, then go on and play a record. Now it's just dragged out until it's not even funny anymore. Also, there's too much participation from the 'team' now. Don't get me wrong, Chris wouldn't be brilliant on his own, but Chris and Dave used to be hilarious. Now it's Chris, Dave, Aled, Rachel, Dom, Carrie, Joss, Uncle Tom Cobley, All...

Also, I disagree that more people are against him, since he's been on breakfast the appeal as widened and let's face it, he's been adding listeners. While many of the hardcore fans may think that he's not as good any more, most of the average Joes seem to prefer him now.

howard stern is listenable, but not entirely likable. he's totally on a different level than moyles. you can't compare. when moyles really does take over america, then we'll talk.
