Not put this in the general section because, although mentioned on the show, it's for my own benefit that I'm posting this...

Did anyone hear today Moyles talking about his brother going to someone who taught him how to eat vegetables and like them? Would that be a dietitian? Does anyone know what type of person it would be if not?

I'm in desperate need of someone like this; last Children in Need, I was sponsored £10 by two of our directors to eat salad and couldn't finish it, I was heaving halfway through and they had to let me off... I've just had enough and I want to eat healthier.

There are two reasons for this:
1. I don't want to end up a bloater, which I am in danger of ending up as.
2. If I were ever to settle down with anyone to the point where I wanted to start a family (that's a big 'if' by the way) there's no way I could tell my kids to eat veg if I don't do it myself; it's like people who tell their kids not to smoke but still have their own 40 a day habit.

Be good if anyone knows anything about these people...

Cheers.

A generaly hypnotist might do it?

Mamma Ballbag was a 30 a day smoker, had been for the last 40 years............ she went along to a hypnotist, and now she can't stand the sight/smell fo ciggies.

Apparantly they can do that for any fears/cravings etc etc. Give one a call.

It doesn't work on all though, I tried to be hypnotised when I was a dirty smoker, but his Jedi mind tricks didn't work on me.

Nor me, and I ended up wanting a fag every time I smelt lavender, which is really unsociable in an old people's home !

Chris said his brother saw a "head doctor" for this, by which I assume he meant some kind of psychologist - probably a hypnotist, as Baggie mentioned. I would doubt that it would be a dietician, because it isn't a nutritional issue, its more of a phobia - hypnotism is quite good at that sort of stuff. Good luck. Of course, you could always just watch what you do eat, and take supplements - the dieticians will tell you its not the right way to do it, but to be honest, its probably good enough.

take this with a grain of salt because i only eat veg, really, but don't if the veg looks gross you probably won't want to eat it.

don't over cook them either. you might need a headshrink. i don't know. try some green beans, they're the best.

When I was a kid, I would only eat raw vegetables. Maybe that would be easier? Probably healthier too. Some things are no good raw, but things like cauliflower, carrots, green beans, runner beans, fresh peas - all good raw. But then if you gagged on a salad, probably not. Back to the shrink idea.

What he didn't say was since a green bean episode it has all been made much worse...

Save your money Mr Topher and buy a good cook book. A decent recipe can make eating veg far more interesting.

throw it in a curry. you'll mask it. like the green beans. (stop being a ninnie, gaspode.)

though raw carrots are pretty benign. what was in this salad? what type of lettuce? iceberg lettuce is gross and not worth eating.

Drink Cider, it's from apples, tango it's from Oranges, Chips are potatoes which are vegetable, as are crips, and you can get Parsnip and Beetroot Crisps too, Pineapple and Bannana Fritters are also fruit, and can be enjoyed, and in a big mac you get at least two pieces of Gherkin which I believe are related to the Cucumber family, Garlic Mushrooms, and well anything with Garlic in actually.

Everything Boboff said. And a Multivitamin/multimineral supplement. And don't overdo the junk. And drink plenty of water (to offset the salt from all those crisps...!). You'll be fine Topher.

Ha, it couldn't have got much worse... too much curry powder though Gaspode, I'm also a spicy lightweight.

Hmm, I will give that a go, my mum experiments a lot with her cooking (and is an extremely good cook) and when I go round there I sometimes quite like it.

Salad was: rice (bearable), boiled potato (bearable) coleslaw (bearable), lettuce (I think iceberg, yuck), cucumber (yuck), tomato (which actually I like), betroot (yuck), sweetcorn (yuck).

It was a combination of the beetroot, sweetcorn and cucumber that made me heave I think.

Hadn't thought of the hypnosis thing, it's a possibility.

I make a really lovely beetroot salad - so many people think that beetroots are yuck, but its only the little pickled things in jars that are vile. My beetroot salad rocks, and although it wouldn't be radioactive, it would give you scarily red pee!

I wasn't allowed to choose what was on the plate, it was picked for me. I wasn't allowed any animal-derived foods. I asked for mayonnaise but was told 'no, because it's come out of a chicken's arse.' I was, however, given a chip.

Yeah but you're talking to the person who found the lemony sauce at Nando's a bit spicy!

I always find the salad bar at supermarkets quite tasty and you can pick and mix so anything you don't like you can leave.

I hate salad but I will quite happily eat some veg when it's been cooked in a Steamer.

I don't steam on principle. As long as you use minimal water and don't overdo it, boiling is better.

I do a cracking egg salad. I also do a cracking ham salad.

The ham salad is the same as the egg salad except with ham and no egg.

My egg and ham salad is even more incredible!!

Rychu - the best way to gain weight if you are underweight is to go to the gym and build up the muscles - you don't want to get loads of fat on you.

Eat plenty protein (eggs, meat, chicken, fish and some beans) and pump some iron.
