I know I probably won't have many people agree but I find it hard to watch whole episodes of the Simpsons. Its funny in parts but quite often its dull.

I agree with you for most of the new episodes, but most of the old ones (pre-season 10) are absolute classics. My favourite ever it the Barbershop Quartet one, I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen that episode and it still makes me laugh.

Because a classic sets it apart from the rest. You could say The Simpsons as a whole is a classic because it stands out from other programmes of the same ilk, or a few episodes are classics because they are superior to the majority of other Simpsons episodes.

I lost intrest in the most recent series of the Simpsons too, the newer writers they have are completely messing it up in my opinion, I mean sure there are a few funny moments still, but the humor has changed I think, its trying to be much more random.

Saying that though, I'm very much looking forward to the film, they got a majority of the old writers back in for it, so I'm deffinatly going to give it a good watch. The fullength trailer makes me laugh too when Homer is whipping the dogs as they're jumping and he's shouting 'Jump, Jump'.

I agree! I lost intrest in it years ago, although maybe if channel 4 actually showed some newer episodes rather than ones from season 2 or 3 it would help.

Agreed.
I thought the whole point of them poaching it from the BBC was that they promised to keep showing Brand New episodes rather than the re-runs that they actually show now.

What the hell is "mean't"? I didn't mean to say that all of them are classics, Just that most of them have classic moments in them.
