In no particular order, 10 of my favourite films;

Star Trek: First Contact (best of the series)
The Matrix (again best of the series)
Mission: Impossible 2
Saw
Clerks 2 (though ALL of Kevin Smith's films are good)
Trainspotting
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Bad Taste
Battle Royal
Rollerball (strictly the original)

and if I was doing a Big Movie Weekend type thing like the Radio 1 DJs are doing, I would choose The Matrix as it was probably the most astounding and groundbreaking at time of release (if you ignore japanese animation classics like Ghost In The Shell and Akira with their obvious influences)

I forgot about that, James Caan is mega in it.

I'd also like to add to my list, Mad Max Beyond Tunderdome.

"Two men enter, one man leaves".

Tina Turner is superp in it.

shhh.

When I watched "The Ring" (basic plot - a character watches a video tape with lots of weird things happening, as soon as video ends, the phone rings and a whisper voice tells them that they will die in seven days.) I crapped me pants!

The film doesnt show the viewer what the characters are seeing on the video tape for about the first half of the film, bulding suspense and tension. When I eventually got to see the "video", it finished and my mobile rang.

My dog, who had been dozing in the corner of the room, jumped up (she is scared of mobile rings) and ran out the room. I looked at the phone and it said "Number Unknown" on the display, a message I have never seen before or since (normally it says something like "Private Number").

The crap was flowing by this point.

Turned out it was me mum on holiday in Canada!

haha, i watched the ring with me mate on dvd, and he thought it'd be funny to ring me as i was walking home. Only thing was, he didn't withhold his number so i knew it was him. He didn't quite think it through

The book is very Good Footloose, it's set in Japan I think, I didn't know it was a film, hopefully Yudster will know title and author.

It's by Koji Suzuki, and agreed the book is mega, probably the scariest book I've ever read.

If you haven't seen this film, I suggest watching the Japanese original, much much scarier.

It's just called Ring and the video cover is scarey enough.

a) I really did, although I have never read it as I am a scaredy cat and b) You are a rude little swine at times, deserving of a hefty boot in that prominent sack you are carrying around. Please apologise for your unfounded and disparaging comments.

Yeah Boboff, you're right. I take back my apology Yudster, just because your chin looks like the "globes" in my signature pic, doesn't mean you can boss me about.

Sounds like a plan.

With your very respectable image, your obvious skills with sigs and things, and your accounting to be done, you do pose something of an anomoly with your antics ?

would you like to expand on this thought ?

No, ok thought not, have a good one, and see whether you can cop off and then you won't be Footloose and fancy free any more !
