In no particular order, 10 of my favourite films;
Star Trek: First Contact (best of the series)
The Matrix (again best of the series)
Mission: Impossible 2
Saw
Clerks 2 (though ALL of Kevin Smith's films are good)
Trainspotting
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Bad Taste
Battle Royal
Rollerball (strictly the original)
and if I was doing a Big Movie Weekend type thing like the Radio 1 DJs are doing, I would choose The Matrix as it was probably the most astounding and groundbreaking at time of release (if you ignore japanese animation classics like Ghost In The Shell and Akira with their obvious influences)
