Saturday's on Radio 1 have been absolute bliss recently. Chappers & Dave, Fearne & Reggie, Sara Cox and Trevor Nelson is pretty much my dream weekend lineup. Let's hope Vernon stays away.

I've been thinking this for a while now. She plays crap music, she's boring and she pretty much ruins the day really.

But do you actually think she knows what she's talking about or just plays it because people tell her its cool?

I go back to the Sandi Thom thing, when she first played it on radio 1 she was the usual 'brilliant new sound', blah, blah, blah. But a couple of weeks later when it was getting panned by everybody she said after she played it once that its 'not my sort of thing but people like it'.

Plus she's awful in the links with Chris, has no charisma about her. Seems a big phony to me.

The difference is they don't pretend to be, Whiley just seems false to me, but thats only my opinion.

I don't like Jo Whiley, although I like the show, especially the Live Lounge. Point is, the show isn't her, is it? She doesn't pick what she plays any more than any of the other daytime presenters do - and if she does in fact have a little input, well, its nothing spectacular, is it? I dislike her smugness, her aloofness and her ability to make exciting things seem dull as ditchwater. Its a talent, granted, but probably not one the world of broadcasting really needs. Datime presenting on Radio 1 is about the personality of the presenter, because the playlist is basically set for them. Jo Whiley has a dull personality, so its a dull show.
