It was all Wigan for ages, I think I got interested at the wrong time!

I was a fan for the tail end of those years but lost interest as I couldn't go when it became Summer Rugby. Going to Wembley to see them beaten by Sheffield Eagles was depressing though.

Wigan have got problems plain and simply and thats from who runs them, Mr Lindsey

the youth structure is a shambles at wigan (been told about it from somebody who was close to it) they may seem themselves as a big club but there struggling at minute

When Maurice (as i like to call him) was in charge before it didn't do them any harm. Wigan were destined for a fall as soon as other clubs matched them with money. As you say they started buying in players rather than growing them.

The last truely great players from Wigan were Andy Farrell and Jason Robinson. And they gave away Shaun Long.

I remember seeing Jason Robinson play stand off for Wigan Academy... he was amazing.

exactly...They gave Salford one of the most promising players in Luke Robinson for zero, least the likes of Leeds and Stains develop the players and bring them up through the ranks but from Wigan point of view its a cas eof who is avaiable and buy

If Wigan want to get out of current dul drum the culture of the club needs to be looked at, Noble is an ace coach but he needs time to sort out the squad and for me the culture at wigan is almost a panic one, if something goes wrong someone must be punished and money be used to sort it out

I agree the difference was they could panic in the past and it would work but now others can match them. The Offiah signing all those years ago was ridiculous.

Kris Radlinski was my favourite - but it seemed to me he was brought on much too young and his body gave out early as a result. Andy Farrell's knees were pretty much f*cked by the time he hit his mid 20s too - rugby is a game which ought to reward physical maturity, but all of Wigan's young players seem to be knackered before they get there. Radlinski was brilliant when he could play, but he had so many breaks and he could have been even better.

Have to agree with this. Gaspode is right as well, although other clubs still can't really match them money wise but the salery cap helps to level the playing field alot.

It seems to be that Maurice will promise the new coach the world at Wigan (case in point Millward) but the second they get a few bad results he'll start poking his nose in. I wonder how long it will be before it gets that way with Noble's team - although I do have more faith in Noble as a coach than I do Millward

It will also be suprising to see if Wigan get docked points this year for breaching last years cap. Surely Fielden can't have been under it mid season with the amount of money he'll be on

Andy Murray is not British, he is Scottish. He has no desire to be though of as British, so I'm happy to think of him as a foreigner, the dull dreary personality-free berk. And no, I don't have a problem with Scotland, but he is well documented as having a massive chip on his shoulder about England! Anyway, at least the Scots had something to smile about a few hours later.....deary deary me.....!
