Well done to Corinne for her excellent performance on Jo's show yesterday (prior to the Brits). LOVED her cover of J. Timberlake's "Sexy Back", which made me view the song in a completely different way!!

Check out the album too: if you like your ballads and sweet sounds, this is the one for you!! :-)

If you like dull twee middle of the road pap that's the same as every other "young British up and coming female artist", then buy Bailey-Rae........... or you could buy Lilly Allen, or Tunstell, or that wish I was a punk rocker bint.

But hey, that's just the ballbag opinion.

I think Corinne Bailey Rae has the best singing voice out of all those, I'd say Lily Allen isn't really in the same category, more of a Chart/Pop to her music, anyone seen that really tacky looking video she's just done for Alfie.

Meh anyone else wondering what all the fuss is about with Corrinne Bailey OverRaeted? I just don't see anything overly special about her.
Lily Allen I like her style of happy sounding songs about relatively dark subject matter (the unseen London, breaking up with someone, her lazy pot-smoking brother etc), but I'd rather hear more of artists like Kate Nash.

how can you possibly compare lily allen, corinne bailey rae and kt tunstall. they are all completely different genres.

corinne gets my vote if i was to. closey followed by lily, then james. the kooks are fags and the fratellis annoy me.

they are all in the whiny female singers genre aren't they?

While it is true that the music genre phenomenom is simply not black and white, but more a scalar measurement. It has to be said, on said scale Allen, Bailet-Rae, Tunstell and the punk rocker bint would be very very very very close to each other on the scale.

Musical taste my bum headed friend. As the gas man says, they're all whiny female singers. Get a song from Lilly Allen, and get Bailey-Rae to record a version, then do vice versa....... I bet there'd be very little difference, and you'd not know whos was whos in the first place.

They're as middle of the road as Shania Twaine.

Apparently she does a good live show - my mum and dad went to see her and kept going on about it. Real fiddles and everything you know!

Of course, however we do it like this:

"trying to get away into the night"

*FL points right hand in the air in a superman-esk flying way*

(it could actually be misconstrued as a nazi salute - ive never thought of that before!)

May I ask whom else you listen to, other than Bailey-Rae? Who else occupies your top 10 album list.

Sam Brown is my favourite female singer. I also like Ruby Turner. And Christina Aguilera is brilliant, and I think Pink is great too.
