I know he has been mentioned in a couple of different threads, but I listened to his album last night and was pretty impressed.

First of all, I never really listen to full albums - I prefer to end up liking a song because of the song and not judge it on the artist.

"Any Other World" is a beautiful song, really peaceful to listen to (apart from one bit where the strings get suddenly loud and make you punch your headphones off!)

"Billy Brown" might be my favourite off the whole album but I think that award goes to "Love Today" - i'll need to listen a bit more.

He definitly sounds like Freddie Mercury but he might have a hint of Jake Shears from the Sicssor Sister in him as well (no smut now!). The whole production of the album is really top notch - none of the synthesiser nonsense that there seems to be a lot of these days!

Bottom line, it takes a lot for me to be impressed by an album and I was by this - go and listen.

hmmm, what I meant was - I really enjoy music and different types of music, but I know nothing about the "politics" behind it really. Therefore, when I start getting involved in talking about comparing one artist to another, people tend to shout at me.

Plus, some of my mates are what the rest of us call "music snobs" and I can't really be assed with that sorta conversation.

I liked the album, therefore i recommend it. Easy peasy.

The album is due out on the 05/02/2006.

I would say that the song that he has chosen to release as the single could be pretty annoying and maybe a bit weird.

Listen to the rest of the album and let me know what you think. Some of it is a bit "out there" but some of it is quite good.
