Myself and the current Mrs Ballbag spent a few days this holiday time at Ballbag Towers, the home of nanny and granddad ballbag, along with the rest of the ballbag clan.

During this time many a game was played, including the dreaded playstation sing-along fun game.

A few pale ales and decanters of port later I partook in what was to be my first ever public singing performance, where I learnt that I have a love for, and indeed a great talent at karaoke..... I'd go so far as to say I rule singstar 80's.........................I retired to bed undefeated.

So what did you discover this Yule time?

Oh, and a happy new year to you all.

I had a similar experience a few months ago, one which was repeated on the 23rd.

I too am the undefeated singstar champion! (much to the annoyance of my friends as it was winner stays on!)

Happy New Year to you too.

Putting about 30 member of your family in the same room and giving them copious amounts of alcohol is a bad idea. no really.

I learnt to never again get so drunk you can't remember what you've said or done. Bah, the hangover paranoia.

Of course I am. I should have carried on to say:

"ive learned that when you wake up in the morning after being out on a bender for three nights, and you feel you cant manage a fourth - balls to it, a couple vodkas and red bull and keep going! Just don't wake up on the fourth morning!"

I've learned that a 14lb turkey is slightly too big for my needs, and a 12lb one would have been better.

you ate a whole turkey by yourself? wow. i'm impressed.

i learned that i don't like over cooked vegetables, and that it's important to remember your audience. my standard reply to "when are you two getting married?" went over like a lead balloon. (i usually say, "when gays can legally.")

I learnt this yuletide that pain is good!
No, I mean it! lol
I also learnt that sometimes something that you never expect (like taking my 10 year old niece - brought up by atheaists- - to church) is so rewarding. Reminds me to look out for goodness where you never expect it.

Also, sprouts, when not overcooked, can be quite tempting!

Absolutely, because "my needs" would never automatically encompass those of anyone else, thats the kind of person I am.
