I think I am broadly in agreement with kendra and Fowler on this - but I do have difficulty with the USA's self appointment as arbiter of "right" in the world. And I would feel considerably less aggrieved about telling North Korea and Iraq off for considering building WMDs if we actually practised what we are preaching in terms of diplomacy and international policy. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth - much like when you hear current American government officials criticising the corrupt elections in emerging democracies..........

If you could willfully do that to someone, no matter what horrible crimes that person has commited, then IMO you're just as bad as they are.

Hehe, everytime I hear him say Gawd Bless America I cringe lol. And I know for a fact Bliar has used that excuse, to try and get in with the muslim crowd. He said God made him do it - on Parky, the gentle sympathising bottom-kissing grey-haired one, who got the push from the Beeb, it made good comedy though I suppose.

imagine living in america where lots of random folks say "god bless america" and all you can do is stare blankly. i hate it when people say it as easy as saying goodbye.

lol shoot me now, if I have to go there. Watched this programme on BBC4 called United Gates of America - they really believe they are untouchable from the rest of the world and no proper journalism gets through the gates of the cosy suburb of white Americans, the idea was that they keep the riff raff out, the residents pay their taxes for 'security' - when really its just a Big Brother town and there was no so called 'freedom', if anywhere, freedom was on the other side of the gates. Crime went unreported for the sake of house prices, oh and God was their saviour of course.

Dunno about the style but perhaps the music should be Swing When You're Winning, for a perfect martyr.

I can't believe Ted Turner, Rupert Murdoch etc missed the pay-per-view ratings opportunity meself... wouldda been the number one ratings winner in Iraq at least by the sound of it.

mmm, I have a feeling that its going to get messy. Or messier might be a better word.

Im not sure if keeping him alive would have been a good idea either though. At least doing this gets it all out in the open as such straight away whereas keeping him alive could strech out whatever was going to happen for years.

Also, it will show the people that still believe that he could have come back and become ruler again that its not going to happen.

"Keeping him alive"? You make it sound like there is some kind of moral justification for any person to make that decision for another, however appalling they might be. He is far more powerful now than he has been for years.

i agree..hes an evil b****d & deserves everything he gets. they sould have use the chinese water torture ( steadily realising one droplet of water on to his forehead, whilst being tied up.) it would have completly messed with his mind...then they should leave him in the room with no food, light or water.

....which will result in all the people he has murdered being magically brought back to life, and the country he has caused the death of being magically restored to peace and prosperity. Its just revenge after all - the only thing revenge achieves is the degradation of the person seeking it.

I agree with you - every time I start having the argument about the death penalty, I keep changing my mind over what I believe is right.

At the end of the day - I guess it comes down to the old "two wrongs don't make a right".

This point of view is subject to change.
