Ok guys, what has been your best or worst Christmas presents this year?

My best was an mpv3 player given to me by a 'new' boyfriend, onto which he had recorded 100 tracks which 'he liked/thought I would like/wanted to convey a message'. Before that, I was worried he wasn't as keen on me as I was on him, so aaaahhhhh - pretty made my Christmas!

Worst - a really minging necklace made of glass (from my mum!)

Best - a massive box of my favourite chocolates from my oldest son. Worst - yet another thought-free gift from my in-laws, a Bill Bryson memoir. Why would they think I want to read the soft, twee stories of an completely uninteresting and boring person growing up in an uninteresting and bland place, where nothing - and I mean nothing - ever actually happens? How the hell does Bill Bryson get away with this book after book? His travelogues are ok-ish I suppose, but this is a childhood memoir of a childhood where nothing happened - he is just so damn BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll carry on and plough through it, but its like trying to wade through cotton wool. Anyway. In-laws.

I also - finally - got given Moyles' book, which I read in a couple of hours and actually enjoyed a lot. I don't think its great if you are looking for gossip and scandal, but I think it is quite telling about the man himself, in a read-between-the-lines sort of way. I was disappointed there was no mention of the previous girlfriend to Sophie, the one who worked for CBBC - was it Anna? I thought she was quite funny at the time, and she might have been worth a paragraph or two - but I don't know what happened between them, so maybe it wasn't a good plan. Anyway, it was two hours enjoyably spent.
