Yes. And the obvious extrapolation of that is that - Viv is not serious. Fowler is serious. The next thing to observe is that it was Viv's comment - Viv's non-serious comment - which was the trigger for Fowler's serious response.

So Fowler has taken seriously something which was not meant seriously. Quite how this can be Viv's fault is beyond my limited scope.

I did not - and do not - think that this constitutes genuine agreement. I think this is a sarcastic comment, intended to actually mean the opposite of what it is literally saying. This conclusion was based on the tone and style of the post, taken in context with all the other posts.
