From my recent listening I would say The Kooks or Snow Patrol (was that out this year?) were album of the year.

Best song for ages is Set the Fire to the Third Bar.

I disagree with both of those too, and I disagree with what everyone else has said so far too - especially boboff! I've tried hard to like Snow Patrol, but they really are dreary, although I liked Set The Fire the first couple of times I heard it. After that it just makes me want to put them out of their misery. My two year old also likes The Automatic's Monster. About his level I think. Beyond that - well, its been a bit of a bleargh kind of year, nothing really stands out for me, although there has been plenty to enjoy. I think my two favourite tracks this year have been Christina Aguilera's Aint No Other Man (although I love Hurt too), and Robbie's Love Light. Best thing he's ever done. Blimey, how cheesy is that?

I know its not cool, I know it is in fact cheesy to the utmost. But its also brilliant. I think Rude Box would be my album of the year. I like all the indie guitar bands and stuff, but just recently they are all beginning to sound a bit samey. What about the Killers, every time I hear their new stuff I think it's Franz Ferdinand.......I do like it, but its just a bit same-old. At least Robbie's stuff is a bit different. Doesn't even sound like Robbie, half the time.

Oh, ignore me, I'm depressed.

Nah best record of the year was the Children in Need - Hollyoaks rendition of the massive EMF classic - Unbelievable..... because it was Unbelievable and Bad at the same time.

Best Album of the Year - The Feeling (12 stops then home)
