The Zane Lowe Show with.....#260193

A series of bands and artists are set to take over BBC Radio 1 in the absence of presenter Zane Lowe, who will be taking his usual month off at Christmas to return to his native New Zealand.

For the first three weeks of next year, the slot between 7 and 9 in the evening will see a number of guest presenters including Chris Martin and Jamie T!smiley

The list of presenters is as follows:

Ricky Wilson and Nick Hodgson - January 2
Editors - January 3
The Young Knives - January 4
The Streets - January 8
The Automatic - January 9
Snow Patrol - January 10
Kelly Osbourne - January 11
Jamie T - January 15
The View - January 16
The Zutons - January 17
Chris Martin - January 18

And the Zane Lowe Show will return on the 22nd January with a bright new look for 2007. Sound Good!

I have listened in this week to the start of the show with Zane, and I must say I am quite impressed with his timing on song intro's, he does a great job on the first link, and then plays a great song, the one last night was excellent, can't remember who it was, but then his second song is always rubbish, some rapper shoutty thing which gets me pressing 6 on the Car Radio to have a bit of Cam & Sally, bizarre really

The one that stands out for me is the intro and outro of Snow Patrol's you're all I have back in April sometime, the way he feeds out the end of that first play is immaculate BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM and finish....

i played the chris martin video for my boyfriend. he actually laughed at it. then we looked for the monkey infinity clip, but youtube took it down.

So anyone playing new music is trying to be John Peel now are they?

Zane's show is fantastic. Someone who is actually passionate about the music they play, with a unique style of presenting.

Compare that to most of the daytime/weekend dullards and you see the difference.

I'm going to hide behind MC and say I totally agree - I love his energy, his enthusiasm and his voice (once I got used to it) - and he is playing new stuff. His is a great show.

I dont mind Zane, I don't tend to listen to it too intently but have it on in the background. Some of the stuff is pretty pants but a lot of it is well worth a listen!
