Its a bit out of nothing really, or so it seems. It seems as if its something to do to override trying to get Osama Bin Laden. Cos there is no new outstanding evidence or news which really is necessary for us to go in and bomb Iraq. It all seems a bit out of the blue for not really strong enough reasons.

look at it this way:

a few months before the 9/11 attacks, he was willin to let weapons inspectors in.
after that, he wont let them in - what has changed?
IF he is buolding a weapon of mass destruction, he WILL use it if pushed, we need to stop him before it gets that bad, but the US and UK cant do it by themselves, we need UN support

well its a touchy subject but yeah i agree. we need to go in but going in with no support could prove fatal. i don't know why the others are so against backing us. if one will the rest will follow

Dubya is just jealous that his daddy was rubbed up the wrong way by Mr Hussein.

Yeah I think UglyBob is right its the GOLF WAR II
And like young gigglyboots its just because Bin Laden is not a moving target - go for another geezer.

OK take Saddem out but killing loads more Iraqis won't bring back 3000 dead from 9/11

plus it will just create loads more suicide bombers

I think the thing to keep in mind, when it comes to stopping terrorism: Is that you cant stop it if governments in the world allow it to be orgranised in there countries. Iraq currently posses no military threat to us on a large scale (apparantly) but it is far more complicated than that.

I didnt take the vote, I dont think this sort of discussion is appropriate here. Its nothing against anyone its just that no one and I mean NO ONE HERE is likely to have the relevant information, political/military experiance to produce worthy comments.

Perhaps this is best left to the people who know what they are doing, rather than mass media/population based oppinion where irrational and none logical decisions/oppinions are made. I can just see this breaking down into a touchy argument, lets face it September the 11th has just past.

In summary, my oppinion is leave it alone for now, lets see what the UN has to say, yeah?

yes sod what the common people think when there are faceless civil servants to make decisions for us...... i agree that we do not have all the facts but we should ask questions to find out more even governments get things wrong.

If this thread gets people thinking about the ramifications of military actions, not just in Iraq but across the world then I don't have a problem with it.

I can't believe you chaps have missed the obvious answer to this situation! We go in and colonize Iraq like in the old days! We can teach them the superiority of the British way of life, pilfer some of their priceless artefacts and show them how to play cricket! The simple answers are quite often the best! Yes Sir!

Look on the bright-side. If we go to War, students who stay up all night watching TV will get it beamed live to them via CNN.

Also, buy shares in cigarette makers, their shares always go up in times of war.

As for America, I think they are big enough to look after themselves now.

America are the man utd of the world - most people would be quite happy living there but they have developed this arrogance (calling their President "the leader of the free world" f*ck off....) that annoys people.

we are kinda like chelsea - we tell everyone how great we are sometimes appear a bit cool but ultimately do nothing.

For more country to football team comparisons please ask...

Can't Russia be Man U? They already have the colors down....

Anyways, I think its time for Blair to grow a backbone and stop going along with the US. Its bad enough there are US soldiers going to die needlessly, we shouldn't drag other countries into this sinkhole Bush created.

russia is blatently liverpool - once they were a force but now they are crumbling. they try to bring in the backroom staff (putin) but ultimately its doomed to failure.
