I quite like Jo Whiley. I like the Live Lounge. I don't listen to her every day though, because with Moyles in the morning and Scott Mills in the afternoon I get fed up of the Radio 1 playlist. Oh and sometimes I have things to do, like lectures and stuff. Jo Whiley picks good records of the week too, she knows her stuff about new music.

the oed definition of netiquette:
An informal code of practice regulating the behaviour of Internet users when using e-mail, bulletin boards, chat rooms, newsgroups, etc.
1982 Alexander the Great invented the Wristwatch in net.jokes (Usenet newsgroup) 15 Nov., As the saying goes (netiquette notwithstanding)..I'm not afraid to sign my name. 1988 Washington Post (Nexis) 20 Nov. A1 Internet, which began as a Defense Department link between four research computers in 1969, is still officially limited to universities, research facilities and government offices. But it has evoked its own language, social norms and ‘netiquette’. 1992 N.Y. Times 1 Dec. C14/4 Manners count. On Usenet, the term is netiquette, and in the soap-opera group that Ms. Baym studied, it resembles professional courtesy. 1994 Independent on Sunday 23 Oct. 4/4 In the United States, the pair have already fallen foul of Netties and their informal ethical code, which is known as Netiquette. 2001 Mirror (Electronic ed.) 26 Jan., An unwritten code of conduct{em}called netiquette{em}sets the tone for what is and isn't allowed online. Anyone who falls foul of this is likely to get ‘flamed’{em}strongly criticised in an email, chatroom or web page{em}and these attacks can be quite personal and aggressive.

first use in 1982? in the oed? clearly it's considered a real word.

it's because when webster made his first american dictionary, it was shortly after the war and he wanted to assert america's otherness from the old world.

i'm prententious as owt and use the u, but really... they don't actually do much, do they? they have no added value phonologically or morphologically.

It's really scarry this phobia, but I will try harder in Future, oww, two in one word, Saviour, hurts, huuuuuuuuuuurts, really huuuuuuuuuuuurts.

Sorry generally for my poor spelling, it's been a baine of my life until Spell check, which means that now I think all spelling should the the American way as that is what I now see most of. It is stupid really, I should just spend a few hours learning the words I know I can't spell,

Always up,ow, for a beer !

I can't stand Jo Whiley's programme. Or most of the music she plays. Or the inane features.

But I don't half fancy her.

Jo Whiley is nowhere near as interesting as she thinks she is.

That advert for live lounge on tour is cringeworthy.

"I'm with The Kooks and we're cooking, look he's dropped the spoon, i'm with The Kooks, y'know, that band, they sing plinky plonky music and have bad hygeine, i'm with The Kooks. Me, Jo Whiley. And The Kooks. Cooking! And dropping spoons! The Kooks!!!!!"

The thing with Jo is that she sounds dirty. Not saying that she is but that time when Scott Mills recorded her voice and played it back to unsuspecting celebs was hilarious, especially the Spooney incident.
