They are alright but the battery life is appaling and they are given way to much exposure compared to other equally as good mp3 players just because they are "cool" and modeled by various celebs in Heat magazine each week. I wish Apple would hurry up and release a proper video iPod instead of milking the current version.

i have an ipod (60gb photo), and it sucks. it's always on the verge of breaking and wipes itself anytime i follow apple's troubleshooting instructions. it sucks though, because i want another one with high capactiy (60+gb) and apple's the only thing in that league. i don't trust them.

my parents are getting my brother one for christmas. they asked em to pick it out. i think i'm getting nowt from them.

Aren't the photo ipods a few years old? I wouldn't expect Apple to keep up with that, and when the hell are they going to bother giving ipods removable, not internal, batteries? probably the biggest criticism I have of ipods.

my ipod is a year and a half old or more. it's crap. they still have firmware updates, but those are buggy.

as for the batteries, it's stupid that replacing them yourself voids the warranty. it's quite quick and easy to do otherwise.

apple's all about getting suckers to buy the newest one each time they add a new line.

Got a 30Gb Video, works like a charm, never had any bother with it, never had any bother with iTunes updates and although a 14 hour battery life is more like an 8 hour battery in the real world, it's enough to get me through my day.

It's a Star Wars reference I think. At the start of A New Hope, when the two droids escape the spaceship from Darth Vader.
The craft had a number of escape pods, and at the time the fad amongst the big ship builders was to identify them by letter, so the first was A-Pod, and then B-Pod, and C-Pod etc etc. Anyway when R2-D2 and C3PO came to leave the ship, it had already jettisoned 8 Pods, so they had to go in the next one which was the I-Pod. Is that what you mean cheez ball?

yep. one of my workers has sent her's in to be serviced 6 times (!!!) and the thing still keeps breaking. i've never done it. i had a super fatal disk error message once, but some how my boyfriend got it to work again. he said, no more updatiting and it's been ok since. i think the hard drive is dying now, which is fine. i just need to replace it all 1337 stylee.

I'm not having an iPod. I have a 1 GB Sony mp3 player, which suits me just fine, and I am waiting until I find a suitable option for a high capacity mp3 player. I did get a free iPod Shuffle from the bank when I opened a student account, but it was crap, so I gave it away. I resent how iPods are viewed as fashion accessories, and dominate the market for that reason.
