I don't think he will, Chelsea once again with their billions will take yet another "undeserved" title.

There seems to be a real belief amongst the team this year, the players have matured a hell of a lot, especially Ronaldo and they will push Chelsea all the way. If we win the title this season, it will undoubtably be one of Fergie's greatest achievements.

Of course, the entire "Kingdom of Fife".

So Mafo, why did you chose Man Utd to support over all of those other English football teams when you were a wee one?

The great thing about the Premership this season is that potentially more than one club COULD win it. By this time last year the only reason no-one was giving Chelsea the trophy already was that it would have meant there was nothing on telly at the weekends for the rest of the season.......I don't know if United will win it, but I do know it will be a more enjoyable season because they have a chance.
I'm nervous about the Celtic game.
I'm even more nervous about Southend coming to Layer Road on Saturday - they might be bottom of the Championship, bur they've been a bogey team for us for years now, and we really need to win this one.

Fowler wrote:Colchester aren't doing that bad considering everybody thought they would struggle. Also Colchester are getting a new stadium. Lucky them.

Lucky them? Lucky you and your team, you've got the biggest stadium in the English league, you've won loads of titles in the last 15 years, you're flying high in the champions league and you're currently top of the premieriship.

So tell me again why you come from Ipwsich but support Man Utd.

Wow, I'm glad you justified that. I feel at ease knowing that you have such sound reasons, and aren't in fact another glory hunter.
By Ballbag
#256323
Oh no no no, I've decided to be a bit more critical of the glory hunting youth of today who probably haven't even been to Manchester, let alone a "home" game (a home game for you being probably about 200 odd miles from where you are).

Well I only said "probably hadn't been to Manchester" let alone a home game. So Flower, have you been to the theatre of dreams?

(Oh and I did recognise my previous scriptings, you cheeky little copy/paste guru)

I have, back in the dim and distant eighties (the 1980's Gaspode, not my eighties). Its changed a lot since then, back in those days - pre Hillsborough - there were still terraces. Being a Soft Southern "Supporter" though I always sat in the posh seats. Actually I was less of a supporter then than I am now, I only went along because my flat mate was stalking Gary Bailey. She was, really!

how'd she do that? i have romantic notions of the terraces, but i know they weren't as pleasant as my mind makes them out to be.

i can't wait to go to hillsborough.

The club is in millions of pounds of debt and every week they say none of the players are going to leave then what happens half the team gets sold on the cheep or for free. Then Sheepshanks (the chairman) then goes and gives himself a humongous bonus for doing nothing.

Ive decided that from this one statment i am no longer an England Surpporter. I am English and have always been a surpporter but seeing as we havent won anything since 1966 and the players/managers have never performed like they should do ive decided to go for germany Instead!!!

I was making a point that you would rather jump on a band wagon than actually embrace where you come from.

I have always found supporting England difficult. Players you hate from one week to the next you are supposed to get behind? Why should I suddenly want an odious little kn*b like Rooney to do well? All that "its your country" thing is surely wiped out by Mafro (or whoever) saying you don't have to support your local side. I support Everton and Everton players and most of the time I prefer them not to play internationally in case they get injured.

Yudster wrote:The great thing about the Premership this season is that potentially more than one club COULD win it. .

Thats great for Man Utd fans and those mythical "neutrals" we hear so much about but the vast majority of fans who care about the club and could point to it on a map couldn't care less. Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd it doesn't bother me who wins it as much as us getting a reserve victory over Wigan.

Hang on Flower, you refered to your Ipswich players as "our players" a minute ago. But I thought you were a Manchester United fan, you must make your mind up dear.

I am with you on this one Longvooo, there are far too many "band wagon jumpers on" in the world (Flower, and Mafoo I put you firmly in this catagory), who will follow the trend and not the heart. I imagine they'll all be Chelsea fans come the summer.

Our players, our town, how about your team?????

Oh no hang on, why support the town you're from/in/from/in, when you can support United. Now I see your logic.
By Ballbag
#256383
Also, why is it so ludicrous to say you'd support Chelsea, I mean they're winning everything now, surely they're just doing what Man Utd did to attract you to them?

And they are closer.

Cool.

(I hope the observing reader will note why I feel that Man Utd fans are fickle and not, as I say, fans, and more followers, actually, more glory hunters.)

I hope they get stuffed tonight....... good and proper........... by a properly supported club.

Fowler wrote:We won't get stuffed. We are fielding a proper team of players -

Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Heinze, Ronaldo, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Saha, Rooney. Subs: Kuszczak, Evra, Brown, O'Shea, Richardson, Fletcher, Silvestre.

Fletcher and O'Shea on the bench. We have this game in the bag.

We?? You mean Ipswich?

Fowler wrote:Man U winning everything did not attract me to support them anyway Chelsea players in my eyes are cheats well atleast most of them and Jose Mourinho always blaming something if they lose. Most of the time the ref. So that puts me off supporting them.

If you were two inannimate objects and a colour, you would be a pot, a kettle and black.

Do you not think that Fergie or your beloved Man Utd have never blamed the ref? He invented the bloody past time.

(fair do's about Chelsea players being cheats, you'd never see any Man Utd players like errrrrrrrrr lets say Ronaldo, you'd never see him dive)
By Ballbag
#256405
Sorry, I get confused as to which team you support/follow/like/are top of the league. Still hopefully Chelsea will be top soon and you'll be able to support them, and perhaps get to see a home match easier.

Oh, and Ronaldo may not dive as much as he used to, but what he does do now is still unacceptable, the guy is a first rate ****.

Hmm, I have just read the days play.

and i don't know what to think.

This is a football thread and the talk has largely been about football.

This is probably the most active thread of the day.

But Bag of Pooh, just 24 hours ago you spent an hor reading this thread and since have Troll'd it to the max.

This is not a good point, I support PLymouth Argyle becuase I live in Plymouth, but my support involves reading the local paper and watching the Ceefax at 5 on a Saturday. I agree as a not keen football fan that you might as well support your local team BUT

In none of the above days posts do you mention Portsmouth who were third the last time i looked, and that a third of the way through the season, where they have been on top, and the end of last season they were about to be relegated, why?

Apparently they used there transfer budget to fund wages instead of trasnfer fees, to get goo players who were out of contract ? Is that right ?

Anyway, me and Bag of Pooh obviously know nothing about football, so we should leave this thread to you guys, and especially Growler, who need somewhere to hide from BfB, you really do pick on him, and it's becoming almost bullying, as you know just how to wind him up, and frankly I don't like it, you;ve gone from funny to annoying in a week.

But thats only my opinion, I don't want a row, but we just leave people who enjoy Neighbouors and Football to themselves, and post our rubbish elsewhere ?

Come on get your coat
