As announced here, Featherstone Rovers a small West Yorkshire Rugby Club has chosen to name its new stadium after Chris Moyles.

The club reportedly believes that by association with Chris Moyles it has pioneered the publicity of Rugby League across the country and benefits will be seen by the whole sport from junior rugby clubs through to already successful and established teams. They view this development as 'innovative', not only for Featherstone Rovers but for Rugby League in general.

Thanks to forum member michaelh85 for the news.

Hi andyc. We've already got an Andy B (where is he these days? I miss him....) - slowly building a collection! Being a soft southerner I had only really followed Union until I got married, my husband being from "oop North" I was introduced to the delights of Rugby League - and I like it better than I thought I would! Don't know much about Featherstone though, I have been steered towards Wigan. But really, there's no need to feel sorry for me.....honest.......

How do you lose a computer? They're pretty big, and mine is always right where I left it.......mind you, the same can be said about cars, and I know someone who managed to lose one of those, even though it was right where I - I mean she! - left it...........

You can lose large things too Yuderino. My mind is vast, and knows no bounds, but I'm sure one day I will lose it.

Here is a little info on Featherstone Rovers
We played are 1st ever game on 27th August 1921 at bradford and over the years have won every major honour in the game. The league championship in 1977 and appearing at Wembley 5 times winning 3 times. Rovers have a very unique record for crowds in the world sport. They have had a dozen crowds of more than the entire population of the town, i dont know of this happening anywhere else in any other sport. The ground has been revamped over the years and is very tidy and would shock most newcomers. the clubs fans are still very bitter though because in 1994 Rovers were kicked out of the top flight on the introduction of Super league. we finished nowhere near the relegation places but the games rulers said we wernt glamerous enough and kicked us out, we are only just starting to recover. At the time we averaged 4800 gates out of a 14000 population, and that year reached the cup semi final taking 10000 to elland road against Leeds. The decision was a disgrace a man in a suit with the stroke of a pen nearly destroyed a proud club. Rovers over the years have been trend setters 1st club to play on a Sunday, 1st club to have shirt sponsorship and 1st club to have there own TV station. We have also this season got 3 business men who have put a good deal of money to the club and bought a lot of players to start our climb back to where we should rightfully be. Rovers also have 18 acres of land behind one stand and if we can get it changed from Green belt we will be wealthy and be ready to take on the Rugby League world and there greedy selfish rulers again. Hope this can be passed onto Chris some fans and only a minority i may add were horrified at the ground name change at 1st but now all are coming round. We hope to see him and his fans at a game next season and he can hopefully help get us back the place in the top flight so disgustingly taken from us 10 years ago

Would the administrator kindly pass this onto Chris so he has an insight into the club and what we are aiming for.
