Chris Moyles is an arrogant, self obsessed man deviod of any real substance. His shows lack any real humour, unlike other shows on Radio 1, and he tries to make up for it by launching personal attacks on people, mostly members of his own team. They seem to bite their tongues and put up with it all but his attitude has wider implications for society. He makes arrogance, gluttony, unhealthy living, ill informed, rude banter, binge drinking and homphobia sound fashionable to millions of his young listeners. I am sure members of his team would second every word I say as they sound like a very tired lot, having suffered years of emotional abuse at the hands of Chris Moyles.
What infuriates me is that this 20 stone piece of lard is being paid with the tax payers money! Everyone should have a say on how their TV license money is spent and I am sure everyone who has listened to Moyles would agree that there are better ways of spending £700000 he is paid annually for promoting workplace bullying through his show every morning.
I am planning to write to Jenny Abramsky, Director of BBC Radio in order to highlight my concerns. It would have been acceptable if Moyles was doing what he does on a private radio channel as they are not funded by the taxpayer's money. I think a state run radio service paid for by the taxpayer has a responsibility towards the wider community and checks should be in place in order to ensure that it promotes a socially acceptable message through its programme content. It should not propogate prejudices and bad lifestyle choices which would stigmatise various sections of society(the gay community) or aggravate problems(bullying, binge drinking, obesity) that the govt is trying hard to tackle.
He even has the cheek to get someone to write a book on his behalf and pass it off as his own!!But then I doubt if he can even spell his own name properly, let alone write a book.'Gospel according to Chris Moyles'...sounds very similar to 'Life according to Clarkson'..Geez! Atleast Moyles(or whoever wrote the book for him) could have thought of a more original title!)
It is time to get rid the British ('or international',as Moyles claims) airwaves of this menace.
Any suggestions on how to expediate the departure of Moyles from Radio 1??
