I think I am probably the only person on this forum who was around (just....!) when Colchester - then in Division 4 - beat Leeds - then top of Division 1 (pre premiership) and acknowledged as one of the best teams in Europe - in the third round of the FA cup. Yes, that was nasty - I really think it looked accidental though, I think Jose Mourenho should be a bit more careful with his accusations. Actually, when he went off, Cudicini looked to be in a worse state than Cech, but as there hasn't been much said about him, I'm assuming he was just concussed? And that one was clearly accidental.

Lets not forget for the past 2 weeks we've played bloody brilliantly with our first choice 11 so to turn around after 1 dodgy result in Europe is a bit wrong. Like most other Man U fans i expected us to beat Copenhagen in the week and have all but qualified for the 2nd phase BUT we didnt and it's not the end of the world, at least it wasnt in the league where we cant afford a slip up. Celtic will be a tough game away now and we must make sure we win it and hope that Benfica dont have much to play for when we play them last.

Don't think i'm condoning the use of Darren Fletcher or John O'Shea in midfield though, i see why the manager keeps them as they havnt cost the club anything and wouldnt fetch a decent transfer fee imo. John O'Shea seems to play just fine when he's put at centre back and not involved a great deal but as soon as he's in the middle of midfield he makes us look so vulnerable.

Carrick will take time to blend in and effect the team to the best of his ability but if he plays like he did against Bolton then we wont have many problems with him, he's just a passing player whereas Hargreaves is the ball winner we need but if we hadnt pissed about over a certain Marcus Senna in the summer then at least we'd have someone who could win the ball in the middle.

Pompey tomorrow so hopefully 3 more points and staying top of the league and grab another couple of goal difference ahead of Chelsea.

It's just that I absolutely hate 4-3-3. Fletcher was fantastic in the Liverpool game and always plays brilliant for Scotland, but most of the time, for Man U, he is just average.

That Bayern General Manager is an arsehole, but I suppose that if Hargreaves wanted a move, he shouldnt have signed a contract extension. Apparently, Bayern are after Emre and if they get him there is a chance that Hargreaves will be allowed to leave, although for a hefty sum.
