Bad idea in my opinion.

I can't STAND JK and Joel...... and I think Jo Whiley is to unique to shift from that slot. If the switch did happen (which it wouldn't also due to her having young kids) but if it did then from 7 am til 7 pm you'd just have wall to wall lad/ladette DJ's and nothing for the more mature listener.

That of course is just my opinion.

I pretty much agree with that, except I've never really listened to JK and Joel (except when they covered for Chris that one time) so I can't really say whether I like them or not.

Another beef I have with JK and Joel is that I find them too similar sounding, so I never really know which one of them is gaffing.

Exactly, its a classic case of "Hallo JK or Joel" - I think they are probably actually just one person, and it is a clever scam by JK/Joel to get paid twice.

They are funny I think, and genuinely nice guys, When I am driving at 5a.m. they can make you smile, JK is the southern one and Joel is the grumpier deeper voiced northern one. JK did the Games thing.

The other morning they were discussing Aftershave and it turns out Joel has been wearing a Perfume from Paris Hilton, thinking it was an aftershave, Classic !

It just wouldn't and shouldn't happen. Do you honestly believe that would be a good idea from Radio 1's point of view?

I know it's your opinion, but it's just not realistic.

Jo Whiley, who's been on the station since 1993 - and is an established and well respected figure who gives the station musical credibility... on at 4am? People need an entertainment show at that time, not a music show. She'd send people back to sleep. Plus the woman has three young kids, so would never do it in a million years.

JK and Joel in mid morning wouldn't work either. That show IS a music show, and they are entertainment presenters. It would be like having Mary Anne Hobbs doing Drive and Scott Mills presenting her show.

When JK and Joel first started on R1 i thought they were really good, but over time they've got really bad. When i started seeing them on tv i realised that there actually a pair of talentless tits.
So they should stay buried in the early hours.

And i don't mind Whiley that much although her constant need to be cool is annoying.
And on another note, it was great when she was caught out with the live lounge being recorded this morning.

I too am personally not a big fan of the late John Peel. I respect him and all that jazz so don't do me for it. I just didn't think he was a great DJ.

It took me a while to get into him - I think he was like Mark and Lard in that way - you couldn't just listen straight away, you have to get used to that style of show.

i dont dislike him. i just dont think he deserves this god like status and i dont think hed approve of the whoring of his name by radio 1. fair enough, maybe the year after do something, but it just seems theyre gonna be doing this for years to come which is a bit embarrasing.
