I used to live there is the answer. On rare ocasions I did actually bump into Londoners (i.e. not tourist). That is how I was able to form my opinion........ it's remarkable really to think that someone can form an opinion through first hand experiences, but there you go, life is strange.

As soon as I was old enough..... I got the hell out of there.

Lily Allen though - I don't like her music, although I can see that it has appeal if you are not too discerning, and I don't like her as a person (and no, she isn't my best friend, but I knew her through my work before she was well known). The interview was much better radio than I expected, I thought Chris and the others did well.

But the point is with Chris it is a performance (ok it may be based on his real personality, but it is a caricature of it if so) and he has never pretended otherwise, or demonstrated an expectation of being listened to seriously. But that said, it was a much better interview than I expected, Chris handled it really really well I thought. And I loved the atmosphere between Lily Allen and Rachel, that was funny, Rachel did her bit really well too.

Can't stand the place. I don't see the attraction what so ever. Lots of my friends went to live there after university, and all they do is complain about commuting, rudeness, expense and how it's "so hard buying a house in London".

I try to visit the place as little as is possible, and I always feel like I need disinfecting when I get home.

I've lived in London for 3 years now, and everyone I've met from here has been charming, friendly and polite. Even the two guys who tried to mug me a while ago said "excuse me" first of all.

All the time i have spent in London people have been ok. Talk about rudeness try coming down to Cornwall you will see what rudeness is. So many people bash into me everyday in the high street wth no intentions of moving an inch for anyone. I did Oxford Street on a saturday afternoon recently and only 2 people bashed into me and on a saturday pm its the busiest street in the world.

Most of the locals here are the most ill mannered people i have ever known so London aint too bad. Mind you i only ever spend time in the city or the West End.

I still think Lily Allen's ok.

As someone who has lived in London since I was born (or to be more precise the Essex/London border) I have to say that to think all Londoners are rude is quite ignorant (sp).

I admit we do have rude people down here but not everyone is you know, to be fair the "suits" are (people who work in the city) but most of these are located in Essex & Kent!

I have been to Nottingham twice & found the rudeness on par with London, but then again I imagine most cities in the UK are the same.

I have to agree with the comment about Cornwall, although I have never been to Cornwall a lot of simular places have more ruder people as they seem to be to set in their ways.

The rudest city I have been to BTW was Brighton, I was there for 3 days & was bashed into about 15-20 times

I can't stand Brighton, it is an awful place. Sorry to anyone who loves it, I'm not saying you are wrong - maybe I just had bad experiences!
