The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

oh and you know what a real Londoner is like, how???

You obviously don't know any that well...
I used to live there is the answer. On rare ocasions I did actually bump into Londoners (i.e. not tourist). That is how I was able to form my opinion........ it's remarkable really to think that someone can form an opinion through first hand experiences, but there you go, life is strange.

As soon as I was old enough..... I got the hell out of there.

I've spent most of my life in London, although for the last couple of years I have been out of there - the one thing I discovered about the "typical Londoner" is that there isn't really any such thing.

Lily Allen though - I don't like her music, although I can see that it has appeal if you are not too discerning, and I don't like her as a person (and no, she isn't my best friend, but I knew her through my work before she was well known). The interview was much better radio than I expected, I thought Chris and the others did well.

Exactly right.. I love London. I've not lived there but I worked there for a year and I'm not exactly a million miles away so I do go quite regularly.

She is young and obviously still adapting to her overnight fame! Maybe she thinks rude is hip, she still gave Chris a 10 so at least she has her priorities in tact, will she even remember him tomorrow though, that is the question??

Exactly! Far too much variance, I know this from living there, originating from there, even if I am stuck in Nottingham at the moment, which pales in comparison.

I can't stand the woman. Been in the business for two minutes and thinks shes the queen of sheba, dishing out her opinions about all and sundry.

I suppose having Keith Allen as a dad has probably helped keep this unprofessonal hobbit-like creature in business as opposed to being kicked to the curb like a * x-factor wannabe.

Thanks, I thought there would be 'chemistry' between her and chris but by the sounds of it, theres not, well just heard her giving chris a ten as she wants to marry him - rather amusing

Anyone criticising Lily Allen for being rude/overly opinionated/arrogant is surely being a hypocrite on here?

After all, Moyles has made a career out of it.

I haven't heard the interview yet but if Chris didn't kiss her ass half the time it's surely an improvement from other, recent interviews?

If it's that bad a place, then is should be very easy. Get another job and move......... or move and commute.

People have been doing it for years.

But the point is with Chris it is a performance (ok it may be based on his real personality, but it is a caricature of it if so) and he has never pretended otherwise, or demonstrated an expectation of being listened to seriously. But that said, it was a much better interview than I expected, Chris handled it really really well I thought. And I loved the atmosphere between Lily Allen and Rachel, that was funny, Rachel did her bit really well too.

Coming fron London (or LDN as she irritatingly calls it)..... she'd probably smell of rubbish, smog, dirt, exhaust fumes, arrogance and rudeness. (I am aware that you can't smell of rudeness or arrogance).

but you can exude rudeness and arrogance
Can you believe we have a so called young role model who wants to call her kids Sidney, because it's chavvy !

You not a great fan of London then ?

Can't stand the place. I don't see the attraction what so ever. Lots of my friends went to live there after university, and all they do is complain about commuting, rudeness, expense and how it's "so hard buying a house in London".

I try to visit the place as little as is possible, and I always feel like I need disinfecting when I get home.

Rant over...... for now.

What more than one of them with the same name, that'd be confusing.
[/picky]

I've lived in London for 3 years now, and everyone I've met from here has been charming, friendly and polite. Even the two guys who tried to mug me a while ago said "excuse me" first of all.

All the time i have spent in London people have been ok. Talk about rudeness try coming down to Cornwall you will see what rudeness is. So many people bash into me everyday in the high street wth no intentions of moving an inch for anyone. I did Oxford Street on a saturday afternoon recently and only 2 people bashed into me and on a saturday pm its the busiest street in the world.

Most of the locals here are the most ill mannered people i have ever known so London aint too bad. Mind you i only ever spend time in the city or the West End.

I still think Lily Allen's ok.

As someone who has lived in London since I was born (or to be more precise the Essex/London border) I have to say that to think all Londoners are rude is quite ignorant (sp).

I admit we do have rude people down here but not everyone is you know, to be fair the "suits" are (people who work in the city) but most of these are located in Essex & Kent!

I have been to Nottingham twice & found the rudeness on par with London, but then again I imagine most cities in the UK are the same.

I have to agree with the comment about Cornwall, although I have never been to Cornwall a lot of simular places have more ruder people as they seem to be to set in their ways.

The rudest city I have been to BTW was Brighton, I was there for 3 days & was bashed into about 15-20 times

I can't stand Brighton, it is an awful place. Sorry to anyone who loves it, I'm not saying you are wrong - maybe I just had bad experiences!
