Comedy Dave has finally broken his silence and confirmed that he has divorced his wife Emma.

For those of you who missed the show this morning, Dave revealed that the couple, who married in August 2003, actually split up about a year ago - although their divorce has just come through this week (listen to the announcement here).

Dave confirmed that he is now in a new relationship, thought to be with Jayne Sharp - a former runner on Chris and Dave's UK Play TV Show.

I think he handled the situation with dignity. I personally had no idea through the show that he was going through anything difficult in his life, and having seen my parents go through divorce a couple of years ago I know the toll it can take on people, so I personally think he's done damn well. More power to him!

I say well done to Dave for handling the situation so well having gone through a divorce 3 years ago myself, he was right to keep it private. Although I had guessed along with many others that something was going on. Due to the sudden ceasing of Folkface and he didnt talk about his marriage anymore.

It doesnt matter its his own private business and good luck to you Dave be happy in whatever you choose to do with your life now.

Fair play to the fella keeping some thing like that hidden for a year, when you think on the show that they talk about their personal life alot! I think Dave sounds alot better nowdays than he did a while back!! Good luck to him in the future.

I've listened to the show for a few years now and was quite shocked to hear about Dave and 'the wife'. Pity don't you think? It's never nice when people split up! To re-iterate what everyone else has said, good luck Dave. I'm sure you won’t need it though. x
