Sad news, I remember when they got engaged but Dave sounds very happy now so that's good to hear.

And I don't think it was just this thread that led to the truth being told on-air. As Chris said, they were dying to make several features from it so the chances are they would have discussed it regardless, just a mere case of appropiate timing, which is now seeming as everything is settled.

Sorry to hear the confirmation Dave, but good luck in the future with your new girlfriend. :)

Oh shut up. He was hardly "forced to".

I thought they handled the whole announcement very well, Moyles and Dom were hilarious.

But to be fair you didn't have any proof. I could say that Dom and Carrie have been having an affair for the last few months, but without any proof, i'm just some guy on a message board making stuff up.
So get some incrimanating photos the next time :) .

I remember when Dave's new bird used to present Dial-A-Date, she's quite a catch.

Knowing our friend Dimon Trowel as I do, I would take most "gossip" he happens to post as having some pretty rock solid, top level evidence behind it.

Personally, I think that it was really unnecessary for Dave to account for hmself at all. I thought that he handled the whole affair quite gentlemanly, he didn't fall into the trap of berating his ex.

I thought he sounded quite haggard at having to revisit a part of his life that he wants to leave behind. He's with someone new and he, quite rightly, wants to focus on building that relationship. It's not fair on her/him if Dave constantly has to revisit and account for his past.

We have the information now, it didn't change my life for hearing it, and I'm quite sad at listening in to what should be a private affair. Let's just focus on the show as it is, Fried Gold! It's not right to rub Daves face in his own pain.

Bright Blessings,

Floss

I doubt 4 pages on an internet forum only used by regulars forced him to account for himself.

No one put a gun to his head

There was still pressure, plus he was put in the spot by Chris. He also, no doubt, felt a compulsion to make account to his fans, who would (and are) supporting him. Like he said, it is now final so he feels like he can talk about it.

Just because he CAN talk about it, doesn't mean that he should, and the fact that people were commenting and disecting his relationship at the time it was falling apart, probably didn't help him.

Sadly we aren't all as chummy with Dimon as you are Russ, but you have to remember he was only a relative newbie at that stage who (to be fair) only seemed to exist to ruffle a few feathers of the existing "super members", this combined with lack of proof, it's fair to see why loads of people were sceptical, myself included. This is the internet after all.

At the end of the day, Dimon was right I was wrong and I can be big enough to admit that and will probably believe him in the future as he seems alright really, but I won't say I was wrong to be sceptical in the original instance :)

right, dave said that because HE WANTED TO, you dont think this would of been disgussed before the show? somehting as delicate as this would of been planned for a while. you think dave said it because chris read this thread, then thort "i got an idea, il surprise dave live on air!" no, i cant believer you think there THAT stupid

You're right Haroldinium, if Chris really wanted to suprise him he would have done it a couple of months ago when the threads starting appearing, or on Monday the first show after the divorce came through. It's clear from the "interview" this morning that it was Dave who chose if and when to talk about it (after all it's his life) and today was simply the day chosen. The team are very good at making links sound spontaneous though!
