I am finding this thread very funny.

I did GCSE I.T and i was never told to call a computer or personal computer a cpu.

I'm by no means a computer geek but even I know that the CPU is the Central Processing Unit.

Exactly, but in a lot of GCSE courses the whole thing is referred to as the CPU.

Seriously check this out: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/ict/

Sends shivers down my spine. Answering questions with crap to get the grade even though I knew it was BS.

That's hardly exclusive to just GCSE IT though.

I can't see where that refers to the whole box as the cpu.

I know GCSE ICT is easy but thats because how simple it is, if they asked questions where you had to answer with a wrong answer that'd be more difficult.

I have loads of Old tapes of Chris Moyle's mainly from 2000 & 2001 so plenty of Melinda, Lizzie, Rhys & Will. I also have some complete shows from 2001/2002 on Mini Disc as well

I have been trying to tape them over to Mini Disc for ages but it takes forever to do so I haven't done it for a while.

Once I work out how to copy from Mini Disc to PC then hopefully I'll be able to upload somewhere some clips / virtually entire shows.

However this may take ages for me to do so I can't promise anything at the moment.

it would be great to hear some old shows from that era again. as for putting them onto your harddrive, it would be the same as putting it on from a cassette. you would have to do it the analogue way. play it live and capture it.

messer isn't a bad peice of software:-
http://www.dago.pmp.com.pl/messer/

you can also record straight to mp3 if you download the lame mp3 plugin.

and as for hosting you can always look at yousendit, or sendspace. or you can just edit the music out and ask chris if he can host them :)

Thanks for the info, I'll give those a try... once I upgrade from my old steam powered Dial up to Broadband. I've been saying that for the last 2-3 months, which is why I didn't want to promise anything as of yet, my dial up has problems loading up MSN Hotmail let alone a simple Moyles show. However hopefully in the not too distant future I'll be able to provide some material.

Also what I meant by Virtually complete shows is that the last 10-15 mins are missing as these were done on C90 tapes although not much happened in the last 15 minutes of the afternoon shows (usually Blobbusters (if running late), The Not, The Flying Eye with Dick Cheese & the recap of the previous days Radio 1's Most Wanted 6 at 6) although some of these features were quite good in their own right.

i hjave an fan similar to that on my pc but orange, i have a home built shuttle pc. and the case was very poorly dsigned! the graphics card intake was right smack next to the case, with no air holes, resulting in severe over heat! so i cut a hige holl, and slamed one of those fans on the side... looks cool glowing like that

every single fan i have glows blue. it's a complete waste of money. i should take pistures of it.

i have 5 glowing fans, 3 cold cathode tubes, 1 sound activiated LED cluster, an a led tube light.

that's overkill and a waste of money.

Brilliant - 2001/2002, my first exposure to The Chris Moyles show, great memories.

Also, I have a few clips which I'm going to upload soon. Most of the Noel Gallagher interviews (12 Jun 2000, 8 Oct 2001 (where Noel tells Will to shut up), 4 Jul 2002, 20 Dec 2002) - the only one I'm missing is the Christmas Eve 2001 one, has anyone got this?) and a few other miscellaneous clips I have on tapes somewhere. Would be nice to see some of the stuff in the Sound Vault other than the mass of new clips we seem to get regularly, not that that's a bad thing, but it's really hard to find the old stuff whereas the new stuff, if you know what to do, is piss easy to get.

Also includes a great Will story from possibly 2003.

Looking through what I have, one complete show I have (with no cut offs of links as it was a 120 min tape) is 14th Feb 2000, which is a great show as Chris rants about how much he hate Valentines day (due to the comercialism) & Rhys tells them all he made his wife's Valentines day card on a Rizla packet. :D

Also talking about the old days this in the blog on the website is kind of a reminder of stuff they would talk about/do on afternoons
