Chris was feeling very perky and awake this morning after a bit of a hectic day yesterday. He had five or six huge paper mountains building up on the breakfast bar at his Brixton maisonette, with some bills dating back around 9 or 10 months. Chris got a lot of them sorted out when he got home after yesterdays show, and also got the fence in his garden fixed again after yet more complaints from his next door neighbour. Him and Sophie then rounded the day off by going to her uncle and aunties for a nice exotic tea of pizza, garlic bread and chicken wings...back of the net. He got to bed just after 11 and woke up this morning excited about the show and his appearance on Top Of The Pops tonight. Chris will be introducing Peter Andre as the UK’s Official Number One and will be accompanied to the Pops by Dom, Dave and (possibly) Juliette. Chris made a heartfelt speech saying how much he loves his job and the team, but said he tries to remain as down to earth as possible and not get his head stuck too far up in showbiz la la land. He said that obviously didn’t apply to Rachel and Aled though, who both can’t make it tonight cos they’re overseas. Rachel is off to Paris for the weekend via Eurostar with her mate Kate from home, while Aled is already out in New York living the life of an international celebrity in his 5 star hotel. In Aled’s absence, Dom filled in on Buzz Off this morning. Chris had three possible Buzz Off tracks with him that he wanted to play and offered the team a choice of a good record, a funny song by a rubbish band, or a tune by an artist previously played on Buzz Off. Dom, Jules, Rachel and news editor Toby Sealey all went for Option 2 but were regretting it within five seconds of the record starting. It was The bleedin Vengaboys singing about the Vengabus - something you don’t wish to hear at any point of the day, let alone at twenty past seven in the morning. Dave described it as total muck and buzzed in on 2 seconds, Rach followed on 5 and Dom (who tried to resist the temptation) was next on 29. Because Chris said he was playing a rubbish record, 56 texts came in before the start of the song. He said this wasn’t allowed so upped the ante for the listener buzz to 3500 texts, not the usual 2000. This meant we had to endure a painful 2 mins 12 seconds of the song in total, although Rachel told Chris to turn it off beforehand because it would be losing the show listeners. In a Blind Date stylee Chris revealed the two songs that the team turned down. They were Tequila by Terrorvision (which Dave thinks is total garbage) and Wouldn’t It Be Good by Nik Kershaw. This upset Dave and Dom who both wanted to hear the latter. Chris played a bit after the Vengaboys and reminisced about Nik Kershaw and other 80’s stuff. Rachel told him to stop as she said all the young kids would be switching over. Chris asked who to and said they wouldn’t be up yet anyway. Clocks by Coldplay was next to play after The Vengaboys. Now I may be a big Coldplay fan but let me tell you, never in my life had I been more pleased to hear that song.

Today is Chris’s second month anniversary on the breakfast show and he is still yet to get his fitness campaign for 2004 underway. After mentioning that he might get a fitness trainer yesterday, Chris had received an e-mail. It wasn’t from Jet from Gladiators, who the team were discussing yesterday (Diane Youdale). It was actually from Suzanne Cox (Vogue from Gladiators). She was applying for the job as Chris’s personal trainer but said that the only condition was that she wouldn’t wear her Gladiators suit. Chris said she was a fine figure of a woman anyway and Dave agreed that she isn’t unattractive. Chris said that if she’s serious about becoming his trainer then she should ring the show and leave her details, although with Rachel and not with Greyhead (for obvious reasons - hello my darlin').
Chris - I’m going to go on Top Of The Pops tonight as a fat man...and the next time I appear on Top Of The Pops I will be a muscular adonis
Dave - When are you next appearing, 2007?
Chris - Shut up
(plays Enrique & Kelis)

THE KING OF TICKETS:
After 7:30 this morning there was a new football-ticket based feature on the show, presented by the latest addition to the team - The King Of Tickets. Granted it was Comedy Dave (with plenty of reverb) putting on his poshest voice, which Chris said made him sound like Lord Brockett. A great text message came in saying that The King also didn’t sound a million miles away from Elton John on Bo Selecta. The King said that he quite often get’s given football tickets but is always too busy at social events to attend. Therefore he said he was going to give something back by offering his tickets to the working classes. After shuffling through his weekend ticket collection, his highness produced a pair of VIP tickets for The Barclaycard Premiership match between Southampton and Liverpool tomorrow. The only problem with this was....that the game isn’t actually tomorrow. While Juliette tried to shout the correct date to Chris through sound proof glass, The King quickly checked his diary. The match is on Sunday 14th March. The King said that he is also busy then as he is having lunch with The Duchess of Kent. Chris said it was a good job he was busy as it would have been a very short feature if he wasn’t. When giving away football tickets it’s fair to say that the date of the match is fairly crucial...and Chris wasn’t too happy that Dave and Will hadn’t even got that right when preparing the feature...
Chris - I’d just like to point out to you king that after today’s show I’m going to get Will Kinder, who’s partly responsible for this idea...and Comedy Dave, who’s out of the studio at the moment and...
King Of Tickets (interrupting) - Oh where is Dave? I was hoping to meet him
Chris - Dave is hiding because when I see him, I’m going to kick him so hard in the orchestra stalls that he’s going to cry...
King Of Tickets - Right
Chris - Then I’m going to push Will’s head into the drinks vending machine round the corner, for coming up with the glaringly obvious mistake in this mornings FIRST EVER King Of Tickets
King Of Tickets (laughing) - Well I’m glad I’m not Dave, blimey - he’s going to get his arse kicked

Chris opened the phones on 08700 100 100 and got two of The King’s loyal subjects on the line to play for the match tickets, but told them that they were probably best checking local press for date and kick off details. The callers were Alison from Scotland and Naomi from Bristol. They explained to the King why they each deserved the tickets and based on this, he had to make the final decision on who they went to. After a long number of fanfares, The King picked a deserved Naomi as the winner. This particular part of the show generated a mixed reaction both in the studio and on the text. Dom, Jules, Geordie kid and Toby were approving, although Chris and Rachel were less so. Some of the texts coming in thought the item was genius, whereas others ordered Chris to “behead the King Of Tickets”. I thought the feature was excellent and well worth keeping (it seems there will be more tickets to give away next Friday). After saying goodbye to Naomi, Chris played the out-music and in a Radio 4 type voice announced “that was an item written by Scott Mills and produced by Dave Pearce”. Five minutes later...
Chris - Ah welcome back Comedy Dave
Dave - Hello there
Chris - Were you listening to the radio for the last ten minutes?
Dave - No, what did I miss?
Chris - Nothing

PETE TONG LIVE ON THE PHONE FROM MIAMI:
Pete was live on the line to Chris this morning at 9:15 (4:15am Miami time), to talk about the start of this years Winter Music Conference. Pete said he didn’t want to show off or anything but it is god damn hot over there. Dave moaned that him and Chris never got asked to go and Pete did, but Pete said it was probably because they hold down such important roles for the nation now as breakfast show hosts and nobody daren’t let them leave. Chris said he had a point there. Pete talked briefly about the conference and it’s history and said it started off (to quote Dave) “a bit like a trade fare for the dance music fraternity” but has now mutated into an entire Ibiza season crammed in to one week. Pete plugged his show The Essential Selection which kicks off tonight from Nikki Beach at 6pm (1pm Miami time), with guests including Narcotic Thrust. Chris said he would love to lie but he hadn’t a clue who the hell Narcotic Thrust were. Pete told Dave and Chris they would both love them when they are playing their records on breakfast in a couple of months time. Dave said “Ah, of that there is no doubt Pete”. Pete said that he missed chatting to Chris on a Friday and promised to come in and gatecrash breakfast one time. Chris told Pete that he was listening to him the other week and absolutely loved a new remix that he played of Satellite Of Love by Lou Reed. When Chris turned up to work on the following Monday morning he had actually been sent a copy by the guy who made it (Mark Wilkinson) and after editing it down to a radio-friendly version, Chris played it today. It was decent enough (not sure it was as good as he made out) and it should be getting a release date some time in the summer around June or July.
Pete - Doesn’t it remind you of Dexy’s Midnight Runners with all those horns?
Chris - I don’t know who you’re talking about Pete, I’m a Narcotic Thrust fan myself
(Pete laughs)

Chris talked more about Listen Again as the show battles to beat The Archers and become the most listened again to show on The BBC Radio Player. Chris said he wanted to be 1st for cheap publicity, but more importantly to be taken seriously by the big BBC bosses who still regard him and Dave as scum. Dave said he might log on to Listen Again after the show to see what The King Of Tickets was all about as he missed it. Chris told him not to bother. Yesterday’s secret Listen Again word from Rach was lemonade. Competition entries came in from all over Canada & America, Melbourne, Japan and other far off exotic locations such as Doncaster. The winner of The Chris Moyles Show mug though was Patrick from Scotland. There will be another mystery word added to Listen Again for Monday’s show.

SAVE DAVE FROM CELEBDAQ RELEGATION:
The new revamped version of BBC3’s Celebdaq kicks off this Monday at 8:30pm with Paddy O’Connell and before the big launch a few final names are being booted off the Celebrity Stock Exchange. Dave said his price of £1.64 all year had been “steady”, although Chris preferred to call it static. This lack of movement means Dave is up for the chop this week against Dom Joly, Carie-Anne Moss, Johnny Lee Miller, David Van Day from Dollar and Colin Paterson from Liquid News (who I think is quite funny). Two or three of the celebs will go and you vote for who you want to leave on the Celebdaq website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/celebdaq/. At the time Chris made this on air appeal, Dave was second most popular to be evicted on 27% with 6970 votes cast in total.

CARPARK CATCHPHRASE:
HAYLEY an 18 year old student going shopping for bathroom tiles in Sidcup 2
SANDRA a sophisticated posh bird from Chippenham in Wiltshire 0

DOM KARAOKE GAG - DAY 5 - Today Chris did actually give Dominic time to sing Jailhouse Rock by Elvis before the end of the show. Dom seemed a bit surprised by this and complained “I’m a serious journalist”. Thankfully there wasn’t much time for Dom to showcase his vocal talents as it soon became pretty obvious why his band Gutter Star never made the big time.

Daves Tedious Link
Guns N’ Roses Sweet Child O’ Mine - Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist Slash was actually born Saul Hudson in Stoke on Trent - The River Trent also flows through Nottingham - Nottingham Forest are now managed by Joe Kinnear - If you add a “y” on the end of the word Kinnear you get Kinneary, which sounds a bit like canary which is a type of bird - A bird is an animal that has a beak - Beak rhymes with geek which is slang term for somebody who’s not very cool and probably works in computers - Computers, or rather the first computer, was invented by Mr Charles Babbage - Babbage rhymes with cabbage which is a type of food that can be boiled and in that respect shares something in common with an egg - Egg rhymes with leg, as in Doctor Leg who was the resident GP in EastEnders - EastEnders are fond of eating eels - and eels are kept in a bucket before being sold in an authentic * market, and if you took all of the eels out of the bucket and then put the bucket on your head in an amusing “knees up muvva braaan” kind of way, they’d probably call you a buckethead - Which links us to The Bucketheads and The Bomb (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind)
