Chris was feeling chirpy this morning after having a bucket load of sleep yesterday afternoon. He did stay up late last night though to watch the dull Portugal - England match, which he thought was a load of garbage. On the other hand he congratulated Wales on winning 4-0 last night, The Republic Of Ireland on holding Brazil to a goalless draw and Northern Ireland....well, for actually scoring a goal for once. Juliette went to watch the England match in the pub and had five pints of Stella. Chris said she stunk of stale alcohol today and he could smell it from where he was sitting. She denied it and told him to bog off. Ahead of 50 Cent’s visit to the show, the team played “entourage bingo” to try and guess how many people he would bring with him. He actually ended up with an entourage of 13 and Jules was closest with her guess of 14. Chris told her that her prize was a packet of polo mints, to use to try and get rid of her booze breath. Scandalous by Mis-Teeq was back on the show playlist today and Chris wondered whether Alesha Mis-Teeq is still going out with Harvey from So Solid Crew (who now plays for AFC Wimbledon). Chris wants to meet him as he thinks he’s a good lad. After seeing him on a recent Channel 4 top 100 music list thing, I just think he’s a bit of a twat. Harvey was mouthing off about Jarvis *, saying he wasn’t fit to be on the same stage as Michael Jackson at the 1996 Brits blah blah blah. Chris also saw this show and talked about similar over enthusiastic Jackson fans who basically worship the ground he walks on and can’t acknowledge any of his wrongs (including that particular performance). Chris then received the usual backlash of texts and e-mails from these aforementioned fanatics. Aled was ill today so someone called Laura was filling in on the phones and Dominic filled in on Buzz Off (in his best welsh accent). Chris chose Two Princes by the Spin Doctors, which lasted for nearly 3 mins before being buzzed off. Dom was first to buzz on 12 seconds, Rachel next on 1:21, the listeners on 2:39 and Dave last but not least on 2:59. Chris had picked the song from the Spin Doctors album Pocket Full of Kryptonite. Dave said he had bought that same album on cassette in Our Price in Southampton about 12 years ago. Texts came in saying there isn’t an Our Price in Southampton anymore. Dave suggested him and Chris go back in search of it and make a documentary out of it for BBC3 (well lets face it - it can’t by any worse than Live at Johnny’s...but the less said about that the better). Chris said the best album he owns on cassette is Human Racing by Nik Kershaw. Dom has a Howard Jones album on cassette, Jules a Wham album and Rachel the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing somewhere.

WHEN DOM MET BEN AND JEN:

Dom interviewed them both (Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston) yesterday about their new film Along Came Polly, which is Radio 1’s Movie Of The Month for February, read James King’s review of it here. Dom was accompanied to the interview - not by his wife of almost 3 years who wanted to go, but by ex Moyles show producer Will Kinder who blatantly only accompanied him to mic up Jennifer Aniston. The rules enforced upon on Dom meant no chat to Jen about Friends though. Later on at the premiere she did say she’s met Matt Le Blanc’s new baby daughter and is going to try and get pregnant herself this year. Dom played the clip in the news.
Chris (to Dom) - Maybe you can help her have one
Dom - We did bond yesterday....but obviously didn’t have sexual intercourse
(Chris and Dave laugh)

Dom also chatted briefly to the film’s director John Hamburg(er). He recorded a weather forecast that was played at 8:30 and Dom also asked him the legendary cheese question, to which he responded “Parrano”. It’s a hard cheese on the edge of the cheddar family apparently. Chris was also making full use of the clip of Lemar saying “cheddar” at The Brits the other night, with a nice Ultrabeat/Lemar/Cheddar remix just before the end of the show today.
Chris - Did you get a photo of you and Jen and Ben?
Dom - No. No pictures allowed
Chris - Really?...Was that from your people?
(Dave laughs loudly)
Dom - Yeah, I had picture approval obviously
Chris - They were dying to get a photo of you and you were like...No, I’m here to do the interview, not whore around....for photos

50 CENT LIVE IN THE STUDIO:
To me this interview seemed like a recipe for disaster but in fact it was probably the best interview Chris has done so far on Breakfast. He was a great guest and possibly has the funniest laugh I have ever heard (with the exception of Daves of course). Fiddy and his security man Mr Banks were in the studio between 8 and 9 this morning, with Mr Cent actually staying in last night to get some sleep ahead of the show, meaning no late night partying in London Village. Two weeks ago was the first anniversary of Fiddy’s album being released and in that period he has sold 10 million copies of it worldwide and raked in $125 million. Dave said it was a “strong start”. Throughout the interview Chris pestered him for a spare million, although Fiddy said he’d have to ask a million times for that to happen. Chris also asked for a car, a part in his new movie, a guest spot on the next G Unit album and a pair of Reebok trainers (or sneakers as they call them in the States). Chris was convinced that Fiddy said he’d buy him a car for his birthday on Sunday. Dave thought Chris misheard him though.
Dave - I’m sure he said a card. He’s going to Clintons this afternoon...

(Dave, Fiddy and Chris at The Brits on Tuesday)
When they met up with him on Tuesday night, the main topics of conversation were food. Fiddy said his favourite type of cheese is “american cheese” and also revealed what he would like for breakfast when he visited the show. He wanted beef sausages, toast, scrambled eggs and a bagel. After some last-minute panicking Mr Cent’s requested meal did await his arrival this morning. Last time he was on Radio 1 he was live with the big dog Westwood in New York. Westwood is a huge car fanatic and has his own big truck with Westwood on the side, Chris calls it the “Westwood-a-mobile”. A snappy title I’m sure you’ll agree. Fiddy has six cars. Dave told him about his car - an old skool VW Golf GTI (sports version). Dave said that the chicks dig it. There is a new Fiddy album due out in July and Fiddy also revealed that Eminem is currently recording his new album in Detroit, which is due out around autumn time. Aside from music, there is going to be a film based on Fiddy’s life released next year. Chris said he should play Fiddy in it as they look like twins. If not then Chris said a walk on part would do, as then him and Dave could still fly around the world going to premieres and sitting in jacuzzis with hot women. Dave said that would be nice until Chris reminded him he was married.
Fiddy - He forgot he was married for a second..
Dave - Yeah, well no...I didn’t forget at all
(Chris laughs)
Dave - Good morning darling if your listening
(Fiddy does his funny laugh)

Fiddy and Mr Banks thoroughly enjoyed the interview and apparently had “enormous respect” for Chris and Dave. Chris said they could be G Unit’s UK representatives - G Unit UK. Chris’s mum and dad are coming down to see him from Leeds soon and Chris said the offer was open if Fiddy wanted to join them for a few pints down the pub while he’s still here. Chris tried to explain to him how his dad works while his mum just chills at home.
Chris - She’s a....
Fiddy (interrupting) - P.I.M.P?
Chris (with Dave laughing loudly in the background) - Something like that
Dave - Your dads a postman isn’t he, not a pimp
Chris - Yeah he’s a P.O.S.T.M.A.N
(Cue Fiddy’s funny laugh again)

CARPARK CATCHPHRASE:
EMILY a mum from Stockport 2
MARV a bulldozer driver from Belfast 1
**Emily was parked outside Selfridges in the Trafford Centre with her 5 year old daughter Lucy and her 1 year old son Lenny. Chris kept saying hello to Lucy and said she sounded cute. Chris said that if Emily won the game she had to buy Lucy the headband that she wanted. Chris told Marv if he won and denied this cute little kid her headband then the whole nation would hate him...so no pressure then. Emily did win and as soon as Chris and Dave had said goodbye to her and Lucy, Chris said that was going on the trail as it makes him sound nice to the kids.**
Chris - Hello Lenny
(Silence)
Emily - We’re feeding him chocolate buttons to keep him quiet
Chris - Ahh, that’s what we do with Rachel
(Dave laughs)

RACHEL WEIGHTWATCHERS UPDATE:
A slick link. It was weekly weigh-in Wednesday yesterday and despite all the booze and all the chocolate she’s consumed this week, she somehow managed to lose half a pound. That means her overall Weightwatchers weight loss is just over a stone (14 and a half lbs).

Daves Tedious Link
Duran Duran The Reflex - Reflex is a term referring to an angle that is greater than 180 degrees - 180 degrees minus 177 degrees is 3 degrees - The Three Degrees were a US three-piece girl group, a bit like Destiny’s Child - Destiny’s Child were the band that launched Beyonce - Beyonce rhymes with fiance which is a term for someone you plan to marry or I suppose to use house buying terminology “is under offer” - An offer needs to be accepted, as does a donor organ in a life saving transplant operation - Operation Desert Storm took place in the Middle East - East is the opposite of West - Westlife are big mates with Ronan Keating - Ronan Keating shares the same surname as Karen Keating who is actually the daughter of Gloria Hunniford - If you remove the “ford” bit of Hunniford you’re left simply with Hunni - Honey is made by a bee - B is the first letter of many words in the English Language, including bicycle, bisexual and biscuit - and when you think of the word “Biscuit” in the context of American rock bands who have contributed musically to the soundtrack of a major Hollywood blockbuster starring Tom Cruise, you think of Limp Bizkit - Which links us to Limp Bizkit and Take A Look Around
