Today’s show began with clips from Arnold Schwarzeneggers thankyou speech in California last night. Apparently he puts down all his success to Chris Moyles, or that was what Chris said interrupting in his Austrian accent anyway. Chris and Dave said congratulations to Arnie if he was listening on the Internet. Chris said America was seriously screwed up and did another Schwarzenegger impression that sounded more and more like Avid Merrion as it went on.
To celebrate yesterdays news, everyone went out for a few drinks last night. Rachel said she only had a couple but Chris said she didn’t as he paid the bill. He said Rachel and Emma (aka Mrs Comedy Dave) were both plastered. Chris opened up an e-mail from an old school friend Paul Durrant who keeps in touch regularly. Chris was expecting a big congratulations but all he got was him asking for a ‘shout out’. Once Chris mentioned it on the air he did get a congrats in a reply. He told Chris as well that an old school friend call Martin was upset with Chris for not showing up to his recent wedding. Chris said he did feel slightly guilty but ‘granted, not that much as I’ve just been promoted’.
Chris said Dave looks a bit like Martin (the guy in question). Dave said he’d always thought he looked more like Johnny Depp or Tom Cruise himself. Chris said Dave was more Johnny Ball than Johnny Depp. Chris is today’s second biggest incher (so to speak) behind Coxy in Celebdaq. Chris said he’d been after more inches for years and Dave asked if he should put all his money into Coxs inches. Chris told him to stop with the double-entendres.
The show is up for best radio show at the Loaded LAFTAS in London tonight. Chris, Will, Dave and Rachel are all going (didn’t say if Aled was or wasn’t). Chris said they needed a speech in case they won. He asked people to text and e-mail in comedy lines. They weren’t too pleased with the response and Chris said it was like a collection of stuff from Jimmy Tarbuck’s old joke book. Chris said the best one sent in said he should just burst out into tears and say he owes it all to Doctor Fox. Chris thought about doing the ‘It’s good to be here.....but sometimes it’s good to be over here’ line too.
Chris talked about Rio Ferdinand. Someone in the news said Rio is being payed 100K a week so should be able to remember if he has a drugs test. Chris said he didn’t want to generalise or stereotype in any way but all footballers are thick. He said Ferdinand forgot to show up because he was probably out shopping for jackets and ties to wear when he’s in a team bus/coach. Chris and David Garido had another falling out after the sports news. Chris called him love again. Dave told Garido to turn his frown upside down. Chris asked Garido if he had a woman in his life at the moment as he seems quite frustrated. He said ‘of sorts’. Chris said he’d told him to stop hanging out with Jamie Theakston. Chris told George he couldn’t listen to Newsbeat at 5.45 as he had a breakfast show to prepare. She said it’d better be good with 3 months preparation. Chris said it’d just be the same old crap but in the mornings, although Dave preferred to call it classic material.
On Matthew Bannister’s 5 Live Show last night they were talking about the news that Chris is to replace Coxy on breakfast. (Chris said Bannister was the guy who more or less signedhim to Radio 1 when he was controller). Bannister had Simon Garfield on the line to talk about the news. He’s the guy who wrote a book all about Radio 1’s history and also the guy with a funny voice/speech impediment that Dave was sniggering at as Chris played clips from last night's show. Garfield hates Chris and said that when he was at the station a lot a few years ago, the only person he took a dislike to was Chris and he thought he was a bad broadcaster. Chris said he wouldn’t rise to the bait and slag him off as he had to keep his nose clean and stay out of trouble as people are waiting to catch him out. Instead, Chris praised Garfield for saying the station was in good shape overall. (edit from Bob- I heard that bit, I think he doesnt have a speech inpediment, I think Chris played with his voice to make him sound stupider. BTW, the book, albeit not liking Chris is quite a good book, I got it as a gift a couple of years ago.)
There was a full half hour of classic Moyles which probably won’t happen again when he moves to breakfast because of a fear of complaints. It involved Chris and Dave perving over (in Dave’s words) 40 pairs of knockers in this years Page 3 Idol in The Sun. Chris said one looked like a cross between Peter Kay and Mel C while Dave said another had a fit body but the head of Paul Scholes.
After this, Chris and Dave drooled over the new Hollyoaks Calendar. Chris said he doesn’t care if they can act as he hasn’t watched the show for ages. Chris’s favourite was Gemma Atkinson who plays Lisa Hunter. Dave’s favourite was Elize Du Toit. Another one of the ones Chris likes (Jodi Albert) is going out is going out with Kian from Westlife which put Chris right off. Chris said all the Hollyoaks girls in the calendar should come on the show to promote it. Chris said ‘remember I’m going to be the star of the breakfast show now.’ Dave said it was like an appeal. Chris said it was. Oh and to try and stop it being sexist Chris said Rachel could pick her favourite Hollyoaks male actor and they’d get him to come in as well - but he’d have to stand outside the studio.
Following on from Monday’s electric shock game Chris had been sent in another similar game that gave an electric shock to the player with the slowest reactions. This happened to be Rachel 3 times in a row. She said all the white wine from last night must have been slowing down her reactions. Dave and Aled didn’t fancy being shocked so Chris was the only one who wanted to carry on playing. Chris played Missy Elliott’s new single which was the usual crap that we’ve come to expect from her. He also played The Real 2 Real vs The Ghostbusters mix again, which isn’t crap. Spoony was in wearing a flat cap again and Chris said he was so desperate to be a northerner. There was a good Moyles impression of Zane Lowe before Tedious Link and Chris also said Obie Trice’s Got Some Teeth was offensive to elderly people who haven’t got any.

Daves Tedious Link
Ice Cube - It Was A Good Day - Ice Cube was part of Public Enemy alongside Dr Dre - Dr Dre is actually not a real doctor and in that respect shares much in common with Dr Fox and Dr Hook - Dr Hook shares the same surname as Captain Hook who starred in Peter Pan - Peter Pan shares the same Christian name as Peter Beardsley who has crap hair - as does Michael Flatley - Michael Flatley is good at dancing - Dancing Queen was a big hit for Abba - the word Abba is a palindrome - palindrome shares the same word ending as Aerodrome which is like a garage for planes -a eroplane was a hit in 1996 for The Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Peppers is one of the voting options on Ready Steady Cook which used to be fronted by Fern Britton - Britain is the country which invented Pop Idol - and before Simon Cowell and his Pop Idol chums were around there was only one Idol in the world of music - Billy Idol - which links us to Billy Idol and Rebel Yell

Mistakes (Chris said today’s link was Ruuuubish)
* A hangar is where planes are normally kept and not an aerodrome
* The people who make Pop Idol (Endemol) are Dutch not British
* There was Eric Idle as well as Billy Idol
* Ice Cube and Dr Dre were in NWA and not Public Enemy
