Plus Judge Jules and Dance Anthems

I used to listen to Sunday Surgery in the good old days with Emma B.. only listened to the Westwood one for the humour. I do like Vernons Sunday lie in, but only because of the music thats played. Fearne Cotton is terrible.

Yeah Vernon's show is good when he doesn't talk and just play music.

from radiogoss or digispy can't remember where (Look it up on Google):

Radio 1 were going to sign XFM DJ Lucio- and put him on Early Breakfast. This would mean the domino effect of Fearne and Reggie go to weekends, Jo Whiley leaves daytime, Edith Bowman fills Jo Whiley's slot, JK and Joel from 1. But at the last minute negotiations "fell through" and he is going off to present Capital Drivetime.

This is how the Parf Daddy wanted the schedule to look in Sept:
4am Lucio
7am Chris Moyles
10am Edith Bowman
1pm JK and Joel

Never listened to Lucio myself but apparently he is "up and coming". Shame really, since Radio 1 could do with a good new DJ.

Lucio used to present a networked Kerrang show - he wasn't anything special.

Quite suprised Capital have signed him to be honest. Richard Bacon's Drive show has obviously bombed, which is a shame. He will be better on XFM though.

Am I right in thinking the last "new" DJ's Radio 1 signed (not including Fearne and Reggie - they are TV presenters) was JK and Joel? That must be about two years ago now.

OK, so this is it then, the show will be invaded by a) FEARNE and b) REGGIE

Right, so thats confirmed - which means we're getting FEARNE (Love Island flop) and REGGIE - last ever presenter of flop of the pops! Brilliant.

I know this is old news but its been confirmed that Fearne and Reggie are doing this now hasnt it? Never heard their show but I've found Spoony's show utterly boring. Vernon's show is the best show at the weekend on Radio 1 because of the music he plays, which probably came out of the successful R1 takeover

I liked Spoony but it was way better when The Dream Team were together. I don't get to listen to Reggie that ofen but I like him. He's better than Vernon and Chappers and Dave IMO

Bring on Chappers and Dave its about time they had their own show, they are a brilliant live act! Personally, I would prefer to see them do it than vernon or reggie, and reggie just got a part in dr who so he will be busy actng surely???

As much as the idea sounds good, I dont think they'd want to work 7 days a week, or stop working during the week just to work weekends.

Plus if they had their own show they would probably end up getting a bit more of a format, which would take away their magic.

well if they got their own show they could replace jo whiley and not have to do 7 days a week?

I think Richard Bacon was being tested on Craptial Radio to see if he would be any good on that time, seems he's got a bit more freedom on xfm and by the sounds of things is doing alright.

Looking into the future - and things change over so many years - where would moyles go after Radio 1? He's done Craptial, so surely xfm radio would be a good place to go? They have a lot of high profile presenters, someone which present on tv etc. Virgin?

Depending on how and why he leaves, I'd say within the BBC - he'll end up at Radio 2 eventually I bet (not within the next 6-7 years though), perhaps via a daytime show on 6music? Could be a real ratings boost for them and it's a good transition stop between the two stations IMO

Hate to say it Adam, but I'm with Dimon Trowel on this one.

Moyles on XFM wouldn't happen. It's a station for people who care passionately about music, with the emphasis on breaking new bands/supporting new acts etc. Kind of the opposite to Chris really.

If Moyles stays at Radio 1 for the next five years, I think its quite realistic that his next stop will be Radio 2. If not, I'd say Virgin - but he's slagged them off so much over the years that would they want him?

I reckon he'll retire early and become a hermit. Failing that he'll deffo go to Radio 2........... I can see Wogan retiring, Chris Evans taking the breakfast show, and Moyles on drive time.
