The TV execs won't ever be happy until every show has "House", "Diet", "Clothes" or "Big Brother" in the title. Preferrably prefixed with the oft-misleading "celebrity". Why not Axe everything with any educational or special-interest value!

They'll only stop axing long-running shows when the Telly is a bland smorgasbord of irritating Z-list thirty-somethings trying to buy a house, lose weight, or prevent themselves being evicted off or from somewhere.

That's not really the fault of the shows producers though is it, more the crap management of the actors who appear in it

Don't forget that before Jo took over the mid-mornig slot from Mayo (who really had been there for ages) she was in the slot now occupied by Zane Lowe with Steve Lamaq and they were championing great bands.

I don't want to say Jo Whiley is the next John Peel but she has a lot of the qualities that made him a great man.
