Looks to me like a load of kids have managed to get hold of a couple of detonators and be "like, well funny" by exploding them on Tubes.

Thanks for the link. I heard about this earlier from someone, but I thought it must have been a joke as I couldn't find anything on it. How wrong I was!

I really hope this isn't a bunch of kids playing silly buggers.

If it is, surely it's better than an organised criminal fraternity who knows what they are doing with this kind of thing...

If there was no explosives it looks more like it was done to prove a point, showing the security increase hasnt't helped.

I really can't imagine a bunch of kids deciding to do it though.. even the thickest shits around would realise they'll get caught and be in the shit.

It doesn't strike me as Al Quaeda-esque to fail so badly due to faulty equipment, not after the level of planning their other attacks have taken.

This is obviously kids or an incompetent 'organisation', and kids/chavs doesn't seem likely to me, so I think bad copycats.

I'm half expecting The Sun to have a report tomorrow about how their reporters managed to repeat the attacks to show that security hasn't been tightened that much.

No not at all. The point was that my friends wanted to set-up an e-mail chain mail to get comments which would be sent on and then sent to the book of condolence. But after much consideration we considered too hard to work out a system where the comments could be sent to one place - i.e my e-mail address.

I then offered part of the message board, and turned on 'guest posting' so no one had to register, thus meaning I would not gain anything from this. Infact if you looked at the messages 75% were guests and the others were forum members and these were sent to the book of condolence on Saturday.

I should have replied sooner but I hadn't returned to this topic for a while. But I think you lot usually make your mind up and it takes too much effort to convince you as to otherwise.

Well I think these kids are going to end up with more than an ASBO. But in my opinion I think it was more then that, but I wouldn't point the finger at Al-Qaeda.

Christ, coppers shot a suspect at Stockwell now... You'd have thought they wanted to question him - there must be something about this the media aren't telling us.

Rather suprising to hear Police have recently shot a man dead after a few probs down at Stockwell. A possible 5th attempt.

what about the bomb scare at a london mosque, they should put security searching at the tube stations to stop this happening again

You'll never be 100% sure of stopping it but random searches is a good idea.

That's what New York have just announced. There was talk of putting airport style scanners at each Tube Station.

costs too much and would cause horrendous delays

There was rumour a while back that the London underground were going to have them new 'see-through clothes' scanner's installed, but it didn't seem to pan out. Would have been a great idea, but damn expensive.
